Power FX has confirmed that, as Big Al and Sweet An are monsters, Oliver is too, and so by default I believe that Yohio is as well, and I suppose Ruby can be too (I love Ruby lol no hate)--

Al: Male Frankenstein monster
An: Female Frankenstein monster
Yohio: Part Frankenstein, Part Dragon, Part ???, Part ???
Oliver: Half Frankenstein, Half Dragon
Ruby: Half Gorgon
In most AUs, Yohio and Oliver are escaped lab experiments from an organization attempting to use monsters for their own evil desires. They were an "ultimate weapon" situation, like Mewtwo from Pokemon. Yohio is a sort of Amalgamate that was created from multiple kinds of DNA, while Oliver is a modified half-breed. The two are technically biologically related because some of the same DNA was used in each of them.
An and Al (married) work for an organization created by natural monsters to take down stuff like this and protect themselves. They came across the boys and felt bad for them (because unfortunately for the Organization they gained c o n s c i o u s t h o u g h t and weren't just mindless killing machines as intended) and eventually got permission to take them in. Things...happen after that.
Ruby is another agent (human-gorgon half-breed) raised in Al and An's organization, and is initially sent to keep an eye on them all as the boys get older and might wreak havoc. Unfortunately for the rest of them, she gets attached. So do they. Yaaaaaaay--
Normal Universe, Ruby, An, and Al came out the way they were supposed to, but Ollie and Yohio were...experimented on further.
Bad times.
