I stopped and took in what I was actually reading. Is this guy serious? Am I actually contemplating it? I am going to take the risk and do it. It provides me with what I need to survive and be successful in taking revenge. I wouldn't have to worry about living costs and I would have to worry about getting a job or being unprotected. The bottom of the contract was burning in my hands. I signed the contract. Looks like I will just have to wait until tomorrow to give the contract back.

Tomorrow came and kicked me down. I did not know what time he was coming and my apartment was a mess. Quickly doing the laundry while trying to do it quick enough to squeeze in a shower to be prepared for his timing. Somehow I cleaned the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, the dining area, and my bedroom all in under an hour. Starting to shower, I heard a knock at the door. I walk over to the door and look through the peep-hole and there he was. He had two other people standing behind him in black suits. He‌ was wearing more casual summer vacation clothes. I almost opened the door in my towel.

"Just a moment!" I ran to my room and put on professional clothes and tied my hair up into a high bun. It looked smooth and simple. I ran towards the door and checked to make sure they are still there and opened the door.

"My apologies for making you wait." He looked at me with a little shock on his face. Did he not expect me to look professional, as this is a business proposal where we both benefit from it? I usher them into my living room and offer some tea or coffee.

"No, thank you though." I looked around at the guards and they both shook their heads. I went to the kitchen and grabbed the folder and walked to the living room and stood in front of Mr. Wood.

"Here you go." He took it from and opened it to the last page where it had my signature. He nodded as a smile grew on his mouth. He quickly hid it and brought the cool stern look he had when he walked in.

"When would be best to take you to the house?"

"What do you mean? Don't you need to read my conditions or facts about me first before you make the decision?" He looked down and grinned.

"I already know everything I need to know about you. Just by the fact that you signed the contract and how you reacted in the office the other day." I nodded and looked off to the side.

"Well, would it work best for you today? If not, that is okay."

"Today works perfectly. Pack the things you will need to survive the night and we will come back tomorrow for your other things." I nodded and headed toward my room when he stood up and followed me into my room.

"What are you doing?"

"Following my future wife to her room?" I shrugged it off and let him into my room. He said that I could trust him, but I am limiting him to being alone with me when the door is open. We walked into my room and he closed the door behind himself.

"What are you doing?" He leaned up against the door smirking.

"Spending some alone time with my future wife." He continued to stare at me and smirked.

"I must admit that I am taken aback a bit. I didn't expect this early into the contract. Have you already caught feelings for me?" He started to move closer when there was a knock at the door.

"Boss, not today." And with that, he stopped and opened the door to reveal a bodyguard standing in the doorway.

"Since when do you tell me what to do?"

"Boss, my job is to protect her. And from what we have seen she is uncomfortable being alone with any man and you know this." When the guard finished, the smirk that turned to anger faded away.

"I apologize, I have come on too strong and made you uncomfortable. I will leave." I stood there, shocked. Was he actually going to try something on me? The real question was: Would I let him?

"It's okay. You can stay, just leave the door open, please." Mr. Wood perked up and pushed the door wide open. He calmly walked towards my bed and sat down.

"So why did you really sign the contract?" I turned towards him in disbelief and continued to pick out the clothes and essentials.

"I need to make the ones that made me suffer, suffer. I can't unload all the trauma I have from working there on you. We just met. It would be rude and I am not comfortable with you enough to give you that information." I turned away and felt a tear run down my cheek. Was I doing the right thing? Getting revenge or satisfaction at the suffering of others? Before I could speak, I felt hands wrap around my waist.

"What are you-?" I frantically wiped the tears from my eyes.

"Shhh. I know you don't want to cry in front of me or even people, but sometimes it's okay. You went through something that should not happen to anyone." He turned me to face him and wiped the tears from my face. He pulled me in for one last hug. He pulled away and sat back down on the bed.

"So, tell me about yourself."

"What do you mean? If you read the list, you would know about me."

"But would I know the real you if I just read some list? No, I would not." I had finished packing all my clothes and the necessary products.

"We should head out. It's getting closer to rush hour and we don't want to get caught in that." He nodded and pushed his hands on his knees. Standing up, he said,

"I'll walk you to the car." And with that, we walked to the car.
