Raven's

Silence..

Another silence..

And more silence..

Luke was sitting beside his mom. While I'm sitting beside my mom while gisabak nako si Lucas. Kuya has arrived earlier and he is just standing near the couch.

My sisters are not around. Wala na sila gipa apil ni mama.

Luke's mom cleared her throat, “I just want to settle everything between my son, your daughter and our grandson.” tingog niya.

Mama's reaction went confused to shocked face.

“Grandson? Si Lucas?” pangutana ni mama nga murag wa katuo.

“God..” hunghong ni mama.

Someone cleared his throat too, “Ma, Luke is your grandson's biological father and tita Katana was Luke's mom.” kuya started to explain.

Nahilom lang ang tanan, waiting for kuya to continue..

He faced me, “Mama and tita Katana are highschool bestfriends but sadly they pursue and finished college separately. Years had passed and they met again, but that wasn't the meet up they expected.” kuya Jackson sighed.

“I'm sorry..” tingog sa mama ni Luke.

Our attention averted to her. She have apologetic expression.

“It's not your fault, Katana. It's our husband's fault.” giduol ni mama si tita Katana.

Our father? Why?  I can't remember my papa's face, bata pa kaayo ko tong last nako s'ya nakita.

“What happened?”
“What about our father?”

Sabay namo nga pangutana ni Luke. Nag tinan away pa mi.

“We found out about our husbands having an affair with each other.” tingog ni mama.

“They cheated on the both of us.” tubag ni tita Katana, “But let's not talk about it. I'm here to talk about my grandson.” she added.

I have insight nga nag cheat si Papa with Luke's father. Like what mama and tita said.

So possible nga magtiayon si papa ug ang papa ni Luke?

Mao nay na sabtan nako. My thoughts are saying, they're gays.

“Mama I'm sleepy..” Lucas lean on my chest.

I almost forgot about my son. Oh God!

“Jackson, take Lucas upstair..” sugo ni mama kay Kuya. Char mang gawas lage dayun ang english.

Nituman dayn si Kuya ug gi kuha si Lucas sa akoa. They went upstairs ug upat nalang mi nabilin diris sala.

Unsaon ko na ni ron? Wa nakoy lusotan. They already know naman sad.

“Let's talk about child support from his father.” diretso nga sulti ni mama.

Tita Katana raised her brow, “I know better way than child support, Renouema. If you wouldn't mind?” she asked mama.

Ningisi si mama, “I can still remember our plans back then Katana.” mama winked.

Then they both giggled.

“Tita, ma, can we take it serious?”

Tita Katana just rolled her eyes on Luke.

“Just marry her, son. That's it.” tubag ni tita.

They giggled again and start whispering to each other.

“Maaaa let's be serious in here!” tawag nako kay mama kay murag wa na silay plano mag seryoso.

Gitan aw rakong mama ug gihulat si Tita Katana nga mo storya.

“We are serious here Raven. Your mama already agree about it. All we need right now is the wedding invitation. Or should we plan it nalang para sa inyo?”

I stared at Luke to asked if his mom is damn serious about it?

He just gave me a serious face then walked near me.

Wa ko kalihok ug nakalimot sad ko kung unsaon pag hinga.

He leaned to whisper words that I didn't expect he would tell me.

“I have decided to stop courting you, Raven. I won't court anymore.” he whispered and I feel sad hearing that.

“W-Why?” I silently asked.

Siguro na realize ra niya nga di ako iyang gusto.

I'm not married with him and he haven't told me that he loves me. I shouldn't assume he would stay with me.

Nag away na akong mga thoughts and I start over thinking.

Wala nako napansin nga naka tulala na diay ko until Luke speak again.

“Earth on, Raven. You're spacing out.” sulti nasad niya.

I can hear giggles from our parents.

Alangan, duol gihapon kaayo si Luke sa akoa.

Ni atras ko gamay to give some space but he stopped me and pulled me closer.

“Raven..” he called me and his breath was fanning my face.

“H-Hmm?” duol kaayo among nawng ug na conscious na nuon ko mo storya.

I'm nervous and I can feel my lips were trembling.

He held my hand and rubbed my ring finger by his thumb.

“Let's start planning our wedding, my future wife.” he uttered.
