I stretched and went to Maya's room to wake her up.

"Maya, wake up," I said as I knocked on her door.

"GOOD MORNING JAYYYYY"

Maya has been with me since the sandbox.

"Good morning May," I laughed.

"I'm showering first!" She shouted as she ran to the bathroom.

I went to my room and started to find clothes to put on.

We arrived at the Cal State Arena, this is where I hit the game-winning shot.

Maya and I went inside and started shooting around till our teammates started coming in.

"Hey, guys!" Kaitlin said as she hugged us.

"Did you guys hear that the Warriors are coming to our game?" Avery said.

"OH, MY GOD? JAYCE YOUR FA-"

I gave her a side-eye to tell Maya to be quiet.

"Yeah that's cool," I said nonchalantly.

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE SETTLE DOWN." Coach Moore shouted.

"We need to be on point today, scouts are looking for athleticism, speed, rebounds, and ball handling. Don't get fancy, just do y'all thing."

"Everyone touch somebody," he said as we huddled into a circle.

We stretched our hands.

"Family on 3"

"1,2,3"

"FAMILY"

We see the team we are playing against come in.

"Ouuuu that girl is FINE," Jaz commented on one of the girls.

"JAZ!" Katilin said.

"What?"

"I can't appreciate beauty?"

"Our starters are Maya, Jayce, Kaitlin, Avery, and Jaz." Coach Moore pointed to the court.

We all got on the court and I started with the jump ball.

I meet face-to-face with my opponent.

She's most likely the captain.

Why the fuck is she mugging me?

The referee blows his whistle and I immediately get the ball.

I pass it to Kaitlin, she hits a layup.

SCORE - HOME: 2 : 0 - GUEST

Maya gets the rebound and tries to shoot for a three but she misses and the other team gets the rebound.

"GET THE FUCKING REBOUND," Coach shouted.

Jaz tries to get the ball but gets fouled by one of the players.

The ref calls it flagrant so we get two free throws.

Jaz is on the free-throw line, as she's about to shoot I see Coach Steve Kerr come in.

She misses the first one.

"It's okay" Maya pats her back.

Jaz prepares to shoot, and I see the Warriors arrive a few seconds later.

"GREEN FOCUS ON THE DAMN GAME."

I muttered to myself, "shit."

After obtaining the ball, Katilin passes it to Maya.

Maya steps back and shoots a three.

SCORE - HOME: 5 : 0 - GUEST

"LET'S GOOOO"

It's still our ball, Maya passes it to me.

I sprint full court and make a three-sixty lay.

"THAT'S HOW WE DO IT!" Maya said while dapping me.

"CAL STATE HAS WON"

We show sportsmanship to the other players as they leave.

"First W of the season, good job everyone." our assistant coach said.

Once we were in the locker room Coach Steve Kerr and his wife walked in.

"Congratulations ladies."

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, Steve Kerr! Maya yelled as she knelt before him.

Jaz shouted, "Maya get your ass up."

As he assisted her in standing, Steve laughed."Great game today, awesome layup Green."

He winked at me.

DOES HE KNOW?

"I appreciate it, Mr. Kerr."

He shook my hand and said, "Just call me Steve.

Oh my god, I totally forgot my bag, I muttered to myself.

Alyssa ran up to me and yelled, "Yo Jay."

"Can you get my AirPods on the table when you go out?"

"Why did you leave your AirPods out?

"THANKS!"

I let out a sigh and returned to the back room.

Just as I was about to leave, a tall figure opened the door. I quickly grabbed my bag and her AirPods.

"Hey, can you tell me where the restroom is?"

Damn, he's fine.

"Yo, you good?"

I was looking too long.

"Oh, sorry, go down, and you should be able to see it on your right."

"Thanks" he smiled.

My heart skipped a beat.

He was about to leave, "What's your name?"

"Oh, it's Jayce, but you can call me Jay, not that you can't call me Jayce people usually call me Jay because it's short, you kn-"

"Okay, Jay" he chuckled.

"Nice layup"

"Thanks" I smiled.

"I'm going to the restroom now."

"Oh yeah, go ahead," I said awkwardly. 

I started freaking out the moment he shut the door.

I HAVE TO TELL MAYA ABOUT THAT MAN.
