"JAY, WAKE UP WE'RE LATE FOR PRACTICE."
I look at the time, it's 11:04 practice starts at 11:00.
"SHIT"
Maya slipped into the bathroom while I started to find clothes to put on.
"Coach is gonna make us run laps" Maya sighed.
"We'll be fine," I chuckled.
"Remember, there will be scouts!"
"I know"
"Why don't you just ask your dad for help?"
"MAYA"
"Sorry sorry," she says while putting her hands up in defense.
I quickly brushed my teeth and ran downstairs.
"Maya hurry up!"
"I'm coming, stop rushing me," Maya said while mugging me.
We hopped into my Camry and drove off.
I grew up and currently attend college in Los Angeles. I'm 20 years old. I currently attend Cal State, and I consider them to be like family. Draymond Green is my father, the tough guy on the Golden State Warriors. We aren't as close as we once were, so I don't tell people that.
Draymond separated from my mother when I was nine years old, and he was also selected by the Golden State Warriors at that time. He occasionally checked in on me, but after starting a new family with a low-class actor he stopped.
The moment I stepped my foot onto the court I heard Coach Moore screaming.
"JAYCE, MAYA TEN LAPS"
I heard Maya sigh as she tied up her hair into a ponytail.
"This nigga"
I chuckled.
After we ran coach gathered us up.
"Okay, we all know we are ranked number one in the country after the championships."
We all cheered.
"You know that right!" Kaitlin said.
"But let's give a round of applause to Jay, she hit our game-winning shot." Coach smiled.
Everyone cheered and clapped.
"But we need to step up our game," our assistant coach said.
"Scouts are looking for the best, they look at every little thing you do. So don't fuck up"
Everyone nodded.
We started doing drills and played a scrimmage.
Before we left Coach shouted, "REMEMBER TO GET A GOOD NIGHT's SLEEP FOR TOMORROW'S GAME."
"It's a big day tomorrow, the first game of the season." Jas sighed.
"We will be alright" Maya sang with her horrendous voice.
"Girl if you don't shut up," Alyssa laughed.
"Alright guys, be safe. Kaitlin waved.
"Bye!"
