Returning Home

Mr. Hong informed Suryeon and Mrs. Lee right away that Logan is fine but having struggles, though he did not elaborate in detail per his master's request. Logan promised to explain everything to them personally. Mrs. Lee already has an idea but did not tell Suryeon because she is not yet sure about it. Suryeon, on the other hand, is relieved to know that he is safe but is worried on his condition. She chose not to ask for further questions but just hoping and waiting that he will grant her request.

"At least Mr. Hong is with him already. I'm relieved" she thought. Even in this situation, she still cares so much for him.

Suryeon told halmeoni she wants to go to the beach to relax her mind. Mrs. Lee asked Yoonhee to accompany her, but she doesn't want, she said she'll go all by herself. Though worried, Mrs. Lee just allowed her since it is still daytime, and she must return before the sun sets.

Not long after Suryeon left, Logan arrived in Pohang.

"Halmeoni! Suryeon!" he called them immediately as soon as he arrived at the restaurant.

"Logan, you're back! What happened to you my, grandson?" Mrs. Lee cupped his face. She noticed a change in his weight and the dark circles around his eyes. "He is really struggling" she thought.

"I'll explain everything later halmeoni. Where's Suryeon?"

"She went to the beach"

"With whom?"

"Alone"

"What? Alone? You allowed her to go by herself? What if something happens to her there?"

"She insisted. I can't argue with her given her condition" Mrs. Lee sighed. "Logan, she needs rest. She's crying helplessly every night. She doesn't eat well. She barely talks to us. I'm worried about her. She is badly hurting"

Logan couldn't say a word. He knows he is at fault on this. Without saying anything, he immediately went outside to go to her.

Suryeon sat near the shore on the exact same spot where they had a picnic date. Reminiscing the happiest moment of her life made her smile and cry at the same time. She really misses him, the only man she's happy and comfortable to be with. She's longing for his warm hugs and tender kisses that never fail to make her heart flutter. And thinking she might not experience it again, that his hugs and kisses will now be for another woman, her heart is being crushed. For her, this is way too hurtful than the physical and verbal abuse she experienced. Even the waves of the ocean cannot calm her hurting heart.

Logan finally arrived at the beach and he's anxiously looking for Suryeon. He is scared that something might happen to her.

"What if they do something bad to her? I will not forgive myself" he cursed himself.

As he walked towards the shore, she saw her sitting while hugging her knees and sobbing. He was relieved to know she is safe, but his heart is breaking to see her in that state.

Suryeon felt someone is approaching her so she ready herself for possible danger. But as she lifts her head and wiped her tears, she saw the person she is longing to see.

"Suryeon-ah" he called her gently.

She couldn't even say a word but just cried in response. Logan ran to her and hugged her tightly.

"I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm a total idiot. Please forgive me" he said in tears. He noticed that she is not responding even to his hug, and it broke him. But he knew he deserves it for being a fool.

"You have all the right to be angry at me. Hit me or anything I'll accept it but please... talk to me" he broke the embrace and held her hands. But Suryeon is not looking at him, her head bowed down and still crying.

"Please" he begged one more time while rubbing her hands.

She finally looked at him and spoke, "No, I'm not angry at all. I'm happy you're here". She then forced a smile and touched his face, her eyes full of worry, "You look pale, and you lose weight"

"Suryeon, I..."

"Logan, please, don't say it yet" she begged. "I know you're here to end our relationship but please... just do it later. I still can't..." she can no longer continue her words and just cried again.

Logan was shocked on what she said, "Hey, who said I'm here to end us? Of course not, I'm here to apologize and return back to you" he calmly said and lowered his head to meet her eyes.

Suryeon was surprised of his answer. "You're not... breaking up with me?"

"No! Why would I?"

"The news... isn't that true? Are you not getting married in Seoul?"

"That's not true at all. How can I get married in Seoul if you're here in Pohang?"

"Logan" she said starting to cry again. He cupped her face, stroke her cheek, and kiss her tears away.

"I know I have many things to explain. I'll do it later I promise. But please know that my love for you remains the same. It has never left my heart."

"Bogoshipo" Suryeon said.

"Nado bogoshipo" Logan answered.

He leaned down and captured her lips with his. Their kiss started gently but lingering, feeling each other's warmth. It became more and more passionate as they pour out their longing for each other. Logan pulled her closer into a much deeper kiss to which Suryeon responded, her arms encircling his neck and her hands caressing his soft hair. After what it feels like a lifetime, they ran out of breaths and broke the kiss. Touching their foreheads, they told each other the words they both need to hear,

"Saranghae, my Suryeon"

"Nado saranghae, my Logan"

Author's Note: I don't know if it's too early to reunite them but I just don't want to prolong any agony hehe. Enjoy reading! Next chapter we will know more about Logan's past trauma.
