tommy saw the man infront of him, but he could only see dream, the man who's tormented him, abused him, manipulated him. 
He screamed as loud as he could, backing up and shielding himself, begging for his life before feeling a hand on his shoulder

"hey- hey yeah!! it's me! Tommy, can you move?" 
"..u-ugh- i think so- but..m-my head..my arm..what happened..?" 
"i was walking around, i saw you in the water, so i immediately wanted to get to you so you didn't die- so i dragged you here and patched you up while you were passed out..i thought you were dead!" 
"...i-it sure felt like it...jesus..wait...that was..one of dream's arrows..wasn't it?"
