Let's not meet again

Tord was awoken just a few hours later by an audible gasp. His eye was wide open immediately, searching for its source. Fuck, how on earth could he have just fallen asleep like that?! Where was the military training that should have made him alert at all times?! He was still in danger! Anything could kill him now, and he had been out cold for far too long! Even a bee stinging him might be too much for him to take! How could he have been this careless?! It was just supposed to be a tiny break, a few minutes at most! Tord wasn't supposed to fall asleep like that! What had his army training been for if he messed up this badly?! Tord stubbornly blamed his own idiocy, even if a part of him knew he hadn't properly trained in a while and his size certainly didn't help with his stamina. It was just easier to ignore that he was much weaker now and stubbornly insist it was a mistake he made. Tord just absolutely hated being weak. Feeling weak.

He was on his feet fairly quickly, assessing the situation. Through the cracks on the bench right above him, an eye was now wide open, staring down at him without even seeming to blink. Or at least he thought it was staring at him since it was a very familiar eye which never visibly focused on anything. Tom's black eye. He just had to lie under the bench that idiot had decided to sleep off whatever alcohol he had filled himself up with this time. What kind of sick joke was this?! First, he gets shrunken down to this tiny size, then, he runs into the one person he really didn't want to meet, even at his normal height!

So what now? He couldn't simply run out from under the bench and hope to reach a good hiding spot in time. Tom would catch him pretty quickly, no matter how fast he ran. He wasn't naive enough to believe he'd make it with his tiny legs. The area was too open for that. But he obviously couldn't stay here either. That would also get him caught. The decision was made for him when Tom had apparently broken free from the shock that had frozen him in place because an arm was reaching under the bench. Tord tried to dodge it as best as he could, but his exhausting exercise the previous night and a still very present sleepiness didn't work in his favor. Tom's soft, warm fingers wrapped around his body and Tord had the urge to bite down hard on his hand to free himself, but he wanted to keep his dignity intact. He wasn't some rodent and he wouldn't act as such just to survive. He was better than that.

He was lifted from the ground at a pace that made his hair stream in the little wind it created, his scars being more visible then he would have liked. He didn't want Tom to see the damage he created and get insulted. He already hated how he looked, he didn't need Tom to make it worse. Tord tried to free himself from Tom's grasp, but once he reached a certain height he gave up, accepting his fate. He'd just injure himself during the fall and get caught again immediately after. It just wasn't worth it. He just needed to wait for the best moment to attempt to escape. If Tom let him live long enough for him to try, that is.

"Holy rubber duck swimming in the Atlantic!" Tom gasped. Narrowing his eyes at Tord, he sat up, putting his other hand in his hoodie pocket. "That's one of the weirdest things I have ever woken up to..." He muttered. Tord remained silent, glaring at him, but not daring to speak up. He shivered slightly, but didn't want Tom to see he was afraid. No fucking way. "Commie, how did this happen?"

Tord was taken aback by how calm Tom sounded. He had expected him to use the opportunity and tear his head off immediately, not calmly ask questions. So how would he even respond to that? Tom was his enemy, the one responsible for his scars, missing arm and eye, the one he should hate (even if he had started to feel the tiniest bit guilty after leaving the army). Besides, Tord was loyal to the Red Army. Revealing information to him was the ultimate betrayal of everything he had known. On the other hand, said army had tried to torture and kill him after he was unreasonably demoted and had decided to leave on his own terms, so his loyalty might be completely misplaced here. Maybe. He coughed slightly. "Someone used a shrinking ray on me... to get revenge..."
