Eric remembered that day as the first time he entered the detective agency. Connor clinic was open twenty-four-seven, to any patient. His clinic was mainly open to the people who couldn't afford to pay large medical bills. He devoted his life to saving and helping the people in need. Connor was the type of vampire with a certain ability that was hard to find. It was finding a needle in a haystack.

As Eric approached the front of the clinic, it looked like an abomination. The front of the building's windows was shattered to pieces. Eric didn't know what to feel at this point. He was shocked but concerned at the same time. He kept a calm expression while his ears listened for any sign of life.

He slowly opened the door, as small remnants of the shattered glass fell. As he entered the clinic, there was an endless path of glass that scattered across the room. The glass under his shoes made small crackling noises. With each cautious step, Eric's eyes continued to scan the room. Left to right, the room was devastated. Scattered papers all over the floor, wires of various colours, hanging from the ceiling.

The fluorescent lights flickered from above, as the various wires continued to spark. This was the type of room that looked like it was spat out from a horror movie. Chairs, and a bookshelf, with multiple magazines and children's books, were flipped and scattered across the floor. The front desk had nothing but black scuffs, while the walls were coated in long scratch marks. This was definitely not a normal robbery. It was more of an attack.

Eric couldn't help but wonder in his mind what happened. He knew Connor wouldn't cause any trouble to get him into a situation like this. He was a man of logic, not stupidity.

He continued to investigate down the hallway and the many rooms. Every room he dipped his head into was either covered in blood or looked like it was destroyed. Connor always kept each and every examination room clean and pristine. Of course, he wouldn't want his patients to get ill even more.

Eric couldn't help but shake his head. There was no doctor to be found. Connor must have either escaped or was kidnapped. After all, Eric has been hunted for the past few years. Ever since he abandoned the throne. When Eric abandoned the throne, it gave bigger opportunities - for men of his race to take it. It was pretty much up for grabs at this point.

He knew his race wanted to drag his ass back to his kingdom. No matter if he was the prince or not. Still, it was considered treason for acting against his Father's wishes.

Eric slowly closed his eyes and allowed his eyes to turn an azure blue. His eyes allowed him to see hidden features and things that would have been missed with the naked eye. That's why Eric joined the detective agency and has always solved the case.

He slowly opened his eyes and made his way back to the waiting room. As he scanned the room, he started to notice hidden features. Blood.

There were several differences between human blood and vampire blood. Human blood is red, similar to vampires. But the only difference is that; a vampire's blood is blue in the dark, but it is hidden from the naked eye.

Eric saw several specks of blood scattered all over the room. Each spot of blood almost looked like you took a paintbrush and flicked it everywhere. Better yet, a Jackson pollock Yep, there was definitely a fight that went on.

Suddenly, Eric's eyes darted towards the corner of the room. Something sharp lay next to the artificial plant. Not to mention this sharp object was fleshy. With slow strides, Eric made his way to the corner of the room. He slowly picked up the object and examined it. It was not just the long, extended, claw of a vampire, but a hand attached to it. Eric couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and chuckled. Looks like Connor didn't go down without a fight.

The hand was locked into one position as the feeling was cold and clammy. The blood was dried up and turning discoloured. But something about this hand really caught his eye.

A ring.

Not just any ring. This was a special ring. One that was owned by his house. It was made from the finest silver and had his family crest implanted in the middle. There were no jewels, just for the reasons of his house. Only the women of his house were offered such luxuries.

He slowly bent the decayed finger up and straightened it. A loud, *crackle*, and *pop* sound came from the finger as he struggled to straighten it. Satisfied with his work, Eric slowly slipped off the right and placed it in his pocket. He knew; that whoever did this was not familiar with the house of Sullivan.

A sudden buzz and a vibration went off in his pocket. Eric's eyes looked down to his suit-jacket pocket. He slowly pulled out his phone and saw a text from an unknown caller. He tried to see the phone number, but it came up as 'private'.

Unknown: '15 E 27th St. Tomorrow night. If you're still interested.'

Eric didn't bother to text back to the unknown caller, but he knew where the location was. The Prince George Ballroom. There was something definitely suspicious about this location. Yes, there were always parties going on through the city. But something as extravagant as this? It was highly unlikely.

Eric was fighting with his thoughts. He kept debating whether to go to this event or just leave it be. There were so many possibilities. It could be a trap, a way to lure him in, or just a way to piss him off.

A small sigh escaped his lips as he made his decision. If Connor is truly there, then he was just going to have to take his chances.
