A shrill cry woke you up from your peaceful, although short-lived sleep. You sat up, only to have a pair of arms wrap around your waist.
"I'll be right back." You untangled yourself from your husband's arms and rose from the warm bed. You walked down the hallway until you reached the nursery where your newborn baby (boy/girl) was. You picked up the sobbing child and started singing softly to soothe the poor baby. Soon after, the little baby fell asleep and all was quiet except for the sound of your voice.
As you placed your child back in the crib, you heard the creaking of the floorboards behind you. You felt two warm and strong arms wrap themselves around you, pulling you into a loving embrace.
"Come back to bed." He whispered softly in your ear. You nodded, but didn't budge.
"I love you." Whispered your husband who was still warm despite the cool air. "I love you too..."
