I look up to see Ben and Kai hanging from a roof...holding hands. I frown, continuing to listen "You saved me..." Kai gasps quietly "T-thank you." "It's not problem, but can you-" "Repay you? It's The least I can do." Kai says. I frown at that, messing with my ring , Ben chuckles nervously "Actually, I was gonna ask if you could give me my hand back." He states "Oh..." Kai says. She lets of Ben's hand, "Yeah...the only person that usually holds my hand is my girlfriend." Ben state "Atta boy, Benji." I whisper proudly, feeling a weight lifted off my chest. "Ha...yeah." Kai mumbles

I stand in between Kai and Ben, "I never thought I'd ever see one." Wes sighs as we stare at the tapestry "One what?" Ben asks "A Yenaldooshi-Navajo werewolf. I thought they only existed in folklore. Their presence is a sign of pure evil. I must find it. I'll tranquilize it, then bag it." Wes says seriously "I'll go with you." Max says "Count us in!" Ben says, wrapping an arm around me. "Me too, Grandpa!" Kai says, I instinctively roll my eyes.

"You know only Braves can be trackers, Kai." Wes states "Who made up that rule?" Gwen asks, frowning "It's been that way for centuries. Times change but traditions don't. You, Kai, and Y/N will remained behind." Wes states "Aw what?!" I huff "But-" Max cuts Gwen off "Their land, their rules, Gwen." He says sternly. I cross my arms and groan, "You're so lucky." I sigh. Ben only pats my cheek "Yeah, but it won't be as fun without you." He says playfully.

I glance at Kai to see her glaring at us...or more likely me.

Ben stops playing with my face "Man, Kai seems bummed." He states, Kai quickly turns away from us. "We all are. At least she's probably used to being useless." I grumble under my breath "Whoa...what's got you so mad?" Ben asks "Absolutely nothing. Just go and find the wolf-thing...whatever it was called." I hum, crossing my arms. Gwen lets out a gasp, "What?" Ben and I both ask "You're jealous." Gwen says with a teasing grin.

"Jealous?" Ben asks "I'm not jealous." I scoff, Gwen laughs "🎵Y/N's jealous, Y/N's jealous!🎵" She teases "So not!" I scoff "So do!" Gwen laughs "So don't!" I huff. Ben stands there, connecting the dots in his brain. "But..." I mumble under my breath "If she happens to...hit her head really hard or something and forget who Ben is. That wouldn't be awful." My cheeks redden in...anger? Embarrassment? I don't even know. Gwen's smug smile isn't helping!

Kai continues to sulk to herself, "Wait, why would-" "Ben, come on!" Max calls. Ben perks up at the sound of Max's voice, he shoots me a confused look before walking away. I shoot Gwen a look once Ben was gone "What?" Gwen snorts, raising an eyebrow "One day, Gwendolyn, one day. You are gonna be in a relationship and you will get jealous. And I will be there to call you out every single time." I say seriously.

Gwen blinks at me awkwardly. "Yeah, that's what I thought." I cackle.

"So...I guess my cousin saved you."

I look up from my sketchbook, glancing at Kai. "Yeah...he seems...ok." She says with a lovey grin "By ok do you mean, like, on a dork meter he'd only be a 9 out of 10?" Gwen asks. I raise an eyebrow at her, Gwen only smiles and kicks her feet innocently. I look down at the ground below before hearing howling "Ugh, this is so unfair," I groan "I should be out there helping!" Kai glances at me "And what could you do?" She asks, I sigh quietly...

This b*tch.

I fiddle with my ring "Your brain wouldn't be able to comprehend." I state, Kai frowns at me. I turn on my heels and walk off the roof, gripping my head so tight I might be drawing blood. I let out a deep growl before making a nearby pole crumble to pieces
