Yeah, that didn't work out. Can't say I fell on him almost twelve times because everyone just HAS to go somewhere on a Saturday, but I did. I almost embarrassed myself thirteen times because I used the wrong bus card! So, I had to pay with coins. I am so sick of the universe blatantly messing me and my love life up! First, it's the fact that he likes someone else (at least, my suspicions lead that way...) and second, that he's even trying to figure out who writes him letters at such an early stage? We haven't gotten past the part where I make it obvious that it's me, and he pretends to mess with me but takes it seriously!
Oh, well that's more of a fiction story. I guess I can't act that way when it was already a blessing that he's even by my side. He's currently walking ahead of me to the amusement park, doing a walk that seemed more like a march. "C'mon, Areum! We can't be late! I want to go on the rollercoast- Areum!"
I grab his sleeve, beckoning to his coffee. "Alright, you little boy, if you're going to ride a rollercoaster, maybe you should finish your coffee and keep it mello first. I don't want you to throw up on the ride."
"You care for me so much, Areum. You know, if I wasn't so interested in the girl with the lilac paper, I would've thought that it could be you! Haha!" Because it is me, you clown. I smile, trying to get rid of my obvious look. "Alright. Let's talk then while we finish our coffee. Then we can go on the carousel."
Oh. This is definitely becoming a stereotypical coming-of-age romance. Don't they kiss or confess on the carousel? Oh, no good. Should I confess? He won't hear me! He'll be having too much fun.
"So, how's AP Literature going for you, my humble teacher?"
"Ew, Sunoo. At least call me your friend before calling me your teacher!"
"Sorry, Areum. You're my best friend, it's so obvious. You're the only one I hang out with besides Jongseong hyung and his sports friends~" Sunoo likes to do this often. He groups Jongseong's friends together so that he doesn't say their names for some odd reason. He loves them all, though. "Oh, I just remembered! Jungwon hyung said he was a bit interested in you. I can set you guys up on a date–"
"I'm not that interested in him, sorry," I itch my head, trying to hide the blush. Sunoo, wake up! It's been you! Always been you!
"Oh, no worries. Actually, I'm a bit glad you're rejecting him..."
"Glad? Wait, for what?"
"There's the carousel, Areum! Let's go!"
"Wait, Sunoo?!" I place my coffee in the trash, chasing after him as he runs off. He can barely keep his beret on while he runs around in a circle, trying to get to the front of the line as quickly as he can. He gets on one of the ponies as he rides past the ride instructor, causing me to exhale. I follow behind him, apologizing with a bow to the ride instructor–and she smiles. She points to him, then back to me, and makes a heart sign.
What is THAT supposed to mean?! Is she insinuating... we're in love?
No!
"Come on~ Areum!"
"Oh- uh, coming!" I move past the ride instructor, getting on the pony beside him. "We look so cute. Should we take a photo?"
"Yeah, sure!" He takes out his phone just as the ride starts, and as the camera pops up, both of our faces brushing each other, I feel the horses go up and down.
Snap! The phone goes, and he sends it to me with no remorse. (I'm excited to make that my new home screen.)
Alright. It's time. While he's examining the photo, I should confess like they do in the movies.
Alright.
Kim Sunoo!
"Areum?"
Kim Sunoo, listen. I really, really...
really...
like you!
