"Luc!" I squeal, my hair flying through the air around us. "Lucas! Babe, stop!"
"Alright fine," he sighs while he puts me back down, my boots hitting the pavement.
"You made me dizzy babe," I say as I steady myself against him.
"Sorry," he chuckles, pressing his lips against mine.
"It's okay," I giggle, kissing him back.
About ten minutes later, Lucas walks with me across the lot to where I parked my Traverse earlier tonight after we've all decided to go our separate ways.
I drove myself and Aubrey to the game tonight, but she's going to get food with Hayden and the parking lot was already pretty full when we showed up earlier than normal. I knew Lucas and I weren't going to go to any of the parties happening tonight since neither of us were in the mood after the past few weeks.
"Did I tell you how amazing your ass looks in these jeans?" he asks me quietly, trapping me between my door and his body, not so subtly slipping his hands into my back pockets before giving my butt a squeeze.
"Lucas," I sigh, barely shaking my head, dipping my head forward to bury it against his chest, my arms curling around his waist to hold him closer.
"Just bein' honest my girl. You look amazing tonight."
"Don't I always?"
"Of course. You're just in my jersey and these jeans, damn babe," he almost growls.
"You're disgusting," I giggle.
"Did you have a good time at least? I know things are weird right now," he says after a couple of minutes of comfortable silence passes between us, just the two of us holding each other. He has removed his hands from inside my back pockets and has them now wrapped around my waist like I still am doing to him.
"I had fun. You were awesome out there," I smile as he steps back, allowing there to be some space between us so we can actually look at each other's faces. I'm trying to hide the drama during halftime from him for a little while longer even though it goes against our promise not to hide things from one another. I just don't really want to talk about it, not now when we're finally getting more than a minute or peace to just be with one another.
"Well duh," he smirks. "Is something wrong babe?" he pushes a moment later after I don't say anything back at his cocky comment.
"Oh, um," I start, battling it out in my head if I really want to go there tonight.
"What's goin' on babe? I can see the wheels spinnin' in your head. You know you can tell me anything."
"I know," I sigh, pulling my arms away to fold them across my chest. "Ugh, okay, well, the thing is...Carson and I might have gotten into it a little bit during halftime," I whisper.
"What? Are you fucking kidding me? He spoke to you?" Lucas questions firmly, instantly changing his tone at the mention of Carson's name.
"Luc-" I try to start again before he cuts me off
"I'm seriously going to pound his face in!" he snaps, his jaw clenching in rage.
"Lucas, calm down!" I snap back in an attempt to get him to focus on me. "It was his usual shit and Whitney pulled me away so things wouldn't get bad tonight."
"Wait, she was there too?"
"Yeah, we went down together so we could to get some concessions."
"He didn't touch you, either of you, did he?"
"No, but he made a stink when Whitney grabbed me."
"He's a fucking asshole," he huffs.
"Trust me, I fucking know," I groan.
