At first, when we reach the already crowded field, my eyes land on Nichole, who has shockingly kept her distance since the whole fiasco at Lucas's house last month. I was surprised she didn't try stir shit up at Homecoming, but there's no way I'm letting her pull shit tonight, even if Lucas wants nothing to do with her. After dealing with Carson during halftime, I'm not playing tonight, both of them can fuck off.

Tearing my attention from her, I find Lucas, still with his helmet on, a bit further down the field from where I am currently, laughing as he slaps Liam on his shoulders.

Liam stands at about six-foot-one and he has short blonde hair and bright blue eyes, every teenage girl's stereotypical dream guy.

I know I know, says the girl who has the blonde-haired starting quarterback wrapped around her finger, but mine has darker blonde hair and hazel eyes, so it's not the same thing.

Lucas hasn't noticed her, but when I lock eyes with her, she turns in Lucas's direction, throwing a smirk at me over her shoulder because she's in-between us.

"Oh, hell fucking no," Whitney growls. "Nichole!"

"Fuck that. Hey number four!" I shout over her.

He instantly turns his head in my direction, a wider smile spreading across his face when his eyes lock on me. He tells Liam something, who smacks him upside the back of hie helmet for whatever it was, before he heads over to me.

Meeting halfway, Nichole stood frozen in place with a scowl, since Lucas walked right past her without a glance to get to me.

His arms wrap me in a tight hug and after I wind my arms around his neck, he lifts me up off the ground, bending backwards just a little bit.

"Congratulations babe!" I smile, my face resting on his shoulder, pointed towards his sweaty neck that I'm carefully trying not to bury my face in because of said sweat.

"Thank you, my girl," he hums, his hold on me somehow tightening. He carefully sets me back down on the ground but his arms stay in place curled around my waist.

"Here, I wanna kiss you," I giggle while I push myself up onto my tiptoes and move my hands to lift his helmet up over his face where I hold it above his head. I press my lips to his and he kisses me back sweetly, but quickly, because we're literally in front of the entire school plus more.

"I love you," he smirks against my mouth before he pulls back

"Seriously? Real fucking polite," Nichole scoffs from a couple feet away from us.

"Oh, you mean like you trying to get to my boyfriend before I do?" I shoot right back at her.

"I don't-"

"Save it," I cut her off, earning a snicker from Lucas. "We both know what you tried to do," I add when Tessa, Whitney, Brody and Trey, his two best friends practically jumping on his back, not giving a shit at all what's going on with Nichole. "Just remember, he walked right fucking past your ass."

"Whatever," she scoffs, turning on her heel, all but storming off.

"My fucking girl," Lucas smirks, pulling me back in for a quick kiss.

"Let's get pictures!" Tessa voices, looking back and forth between Whitney and I for agreement, causing the guys to groan in protest.

I'm thankful for them choosing not to acknowledge what just happened between Lucas and I with Nichole, especially after already having to deal with Carson's bullshit.

"Yeah!" Whitney chimes with a smirk.

"Hey, hold on," Lucas pipes up after we've taken a few pictures of the other four, the rest of our friends now having found us down here as well.
