Epilogue

"You two look so cute, almost disappointing how you took so long to get married." The sassy remark was not to be mistaken with anyone other than Satans spawn herself, Ymir.

"Shut up," I shot back, rolling my eyes at her. On another look, my sight came to find Historia in the group. The lively blonde was sitting with the rest of the group - alias Armin, Annie, and Eren. I shouted a loud hello towards them, and they smiled.

"No, never, it'll go like that until the rest of our lifetime, you small devil deserve it." Ymir laughed loudly. I couldn't help but start to laugh with her. Lighting up my heart and the mood. And just like that, I never want that it would end ever, until the end of our lifetime and on that we'd grow old together.

While Mikasa watched me interact with Ymir. I knew she was quiet since she liked observing more and preferred not to talk too much.

I took Mikasa by her hand and sat down on the blanket with her. Besides, I was sitting Armin with Annie, while Eren sat beside Historia, who sat beside Ymir.

"Guys, we've got some news to share—" Historia was cut off by something. Ymir would've glared at anyone who interrupted her, but caught by surprise, it's was Historia herself who stopped talking. I noticed how she took a big breath in and then out.

"I'm gonna marry Ymir, were engaged!" she said joyfully with a light sound of relief.

"That's my fiancé, Historia," Ymir encouraged her.

"Amazing, I'm so happy for you two!" was the first thing Armin said after a while— he seemed not to be his own person today as if something happened. He was rather quiet but seemed happy, something I observed, actually. Putting that aside, we

Throughout the day, we talked about any other monthly picnic about our lives. I found out about how Eren was meeting someone for a while. That thought made me happier than I could be. It was nice knowing he eventually found someone as well.

I turned around, looking at Annie, who had been quiet for a while. I didn't worry about it, but it made me feel like she wasn't feeling included in our conversations. So I tried to get her tag along in it until she would just flow smoothly with the topics.

"Annie, how has Armin been as your husband so far? I hope he treats you like the gem he told us you are, " I asked her, winking with a smirk. Her cheeks went slightly red, but she kept her facial expression the way it was.

"He's been great," These words were one of the biggest compliments that one could receive from Annie. "He also cooks occasionally and insists on taking on the major chores." She told me I wasn't caught by surprise. That was typically Armin. Even if he worked a lot at the museum by now, he would take care of many chores around the house while Annie was out travelling for her job.

"My travels will decrease..." she said, "despite Armin's help..."

"Oh?" I nodded.

"I may or may not be pregnant." she mumbled. My eyes were wide, and I gasped, feeling shock and excitement course through me at once. They would make such lovely parents.

Everyone was so overjoyed after hearing the news. Congratulating both and offering to help them out since raising a child could be a lot of work. It wasn't some novelty to our circle. We were a tightly knit family. Swearing to aid one another dueing a crisis. Even without a word slipping our tongues, we'd do it anyway. But at the end of the day, talking about it could be a huge reassurance.

Just like that, my life itself was average with many plain uninteresting moments. But at the same time, it was filled with meaning, challenges, and all of its ups and downs. It's ideas of making me cry and break down or happy and euphoric. These special memories would always be kept in my mind until the end of my lifetime.

Because, at the end of the day, having loved ones around you made you feel less alone. You will never be alone.
