Xiao Weiyuan woke up after being in a coma for half a year.

His parents wept in his arms soon as he woke up without giving him any time to adapt. His head was very uncomfortable and his limbs were stiff and hard to move.

The doctor helped him get the space he needed and persuaded his parents to keep calm and take things slowly. After a few more days, he started feeling better and the doctor came to question him.

Xiao Weiyuan successfully answered them all and the doctor concluded that he was perfectly healthy. But as the doctor made his way out, Xiao Weiyuan grabbed his arm.

"Doctor... I feel like I've forgotten... something very important..." he mumbled in tears.

Because of what he said, the doctor diagnosed him with mild amnesia. He couldn't accurately diagnose him as nobody in his family could think of what Xiao Weiyuan could've forgotten.

"My apartment!"

"That..." his parents had a hard time relaying the bad news.

The day after his accident, his apartment complex burned down due to a gas explosion. With no one at home and because of his accident, there was nobody who could have recovered his things leaving everything to burn.

His parents could only give him the things that he had on during his accident.

His ruined phone, the jacket he wore, and the scarf.

Xiao Weiyuan tremblingly held the scarf.

"Someone gave this to me... w-who was it?"

"Tell me mom... who was it? I-I can't remember....ah..." Xiao Weiyuan's face soured and his mournful cries filled the room.

After that, Xiao Weiyuan desperately searched for clues about the person yet to no avail, his efforts were useless.

He felt as if the world was against him from finding out.

Years continued to pass with no results and Xiao Weiyuan got married.

The woman was someone that his parents introduced and with them becoming desperate to remove his single and unmarried status, Xiao Weiyuan wanted to show filial piety and married her.

The woman was very lovely and they lived pleasantly in harmony. Their life was great.

After eight years of marriage and with no offspring, they divorced.

He couldn't find it in himself to love her like how she wanted, so he decided to set her free.

In the years of their marriage, she could also see that her husband did not love her like a lover but more like a close friend. She wanted to find someone who'll treasure her the same way he treasures his beloved scarf and agreed with the divorce.

Xiao Weiyuan's parents urged him to look for another wife but refused.

Xiao Weiyuan quit his professor job in his middle age years and became a kindergarten teacher. He spent the rest of his years taking care of lively little children until he reached retirement and moved to a retirement home.

His life was reaching its end.
