"Because he is still your father and everyone deserves a second chance." Someone said coming into the living room. It was Bayo who said the statement.
He came into the room with Fareed following closely behind rolling his car key on his index finger.
"Good morning." Bayo greeted them as he watched Demilade stand up to greet them.
"Good morning," Demilade replied, giving him the usual man's handshake and side hug.
He did the same with Fareed before he sat back on the chair he stood up from.
"Hi," Lola said taking her legs down from the chair and putting on her white flip-flop with the rabbit ear.
"Iyawo wa. How are you doing?" Bayo said and he embraced her. [Our wife]
"I'm good." She replied and Fareed also pulled her for a hug with his signature broad smile on his face.
"You sure are looking so good, bride-to-be."
"I have to. It's my wedding after all." Lola said with a smile while Fareed chuckled before walking over to an empty seat.
"I love that." He said and he took a seat beside Bayo.
"We came to visit that big head. We haven't picked the color of our suit." Lola seems a little surprised by the fact.
"I thought you have."
"Nope."
"Actually, we have not made plans on anything concerning the wedding. Your fiancé had been too busy. He had been waving it off at work. So we bring the meeting here." Fareed explained.
Lola glanced at Demilade who shrugged.
"The wedding is still in three months. You guys should stop trying to get faster than your shadow." He said flatly.
"You hear him," Bayo asked Lola. And she shook her head.
"Well, that's your problem. I and the girls will be having our fitting next month. And I trust him. He won't dare ruin it or will you?" Lola asked Demilade with a knowing smile on her face.
He chuckled. "I won't dare."
"Told ya." And the guys laughed nodding.
"What can I offer you guys?"
"A bottle of wine is okay. Demilade got some good wine in his wine cellar." Fareed smirked while Bayo nodded in agreement.
"That will be okay for now."
Lola smiled and nodded in understanding before she stood up and left the men that were exchanging pleasantries with Demilade.
When she returned with the tray of wine and wine glasses, the men were laughing about something. She dropped the tray on the glass center table.
"Thanks, Lola. We'll open it ourselves." Fareed appreciated. She nodded and gave him the wine opener and then the bottle of wine that was still inside its rectangular case. Most of the new wines that Demilade bought were still in their case. "Whoah, Demmy, when did you get this? It's one of my favorites. Krug Clos d'Ambonnay." He smirked.
"That wine cost a fortune," Bayo said looking at Demilade. He just smirked.
They watched Fareed open the champagne and filled out for them.
"What about your cup Lola?" Reed asked when he noticed they were just three wine glasses.
"I'm good, thanks." She said.
