"I'm so sorry Demilade... I know... I-I.."

"I don't know why you're apologizing Tiwalola because I am not...."

She didn't let him finish his sentence before she cut him short, shaking her head in disagreement.

"No, no, I am wrong. I am the one who is wrong here. And I am sorry..." She sobbed looking down at her feet. "I'm so sorry Demilade. I apologize for being that way. I didn't believe you. I...accused you. I-I walked away. I hurt you. I sh-should have just listened... believe you. But... But I didn't. I didn't even let you explain. I am sorry I choose to believe what I saw instead..." She closed her eyes letting the tears stream down her cheeks in fast motion. It definitely hurt knowing you are the one on the wrong side after being the one to point an accusing finger. "... Instead of believing you. I am really really sorry Demilade. Demmy, I am sorry."

Demilade was a bit tongue-tied about what heard. He came to apologize and also tried to prove to Lola that he never cheated on her and will never do that. But it seem he met something else. She was apologizing like she already know the truth. Or was it probably because she just want it to end... To correct what was wrong? But that can't be because she sounded so certain. But how did she know...

"She gave me... Uche.." Lola answered his unasked question. And he heaved a sigh. "She gave me.. the footage to your office..." She sniffed, opened her eyes, and peered at Demilade for a short moment. She used the back of her hand to wipe away her tears but it wasn't working as more tears stream down her face while she continued talking. She saw and heard everything he and Tina discussed that day and it surprised her. He loves and respects her. But she didn't give him the chance to explain. She didn't believe him. She even accused him. "and you were right. I should have listened. I know I'm a bad girlfriend. I let my..... paranoia and insecurities... makes me doubt you. I didn't believe you. Not once... Not a single time did... did I-I thought she might be the one... The bad one that... you never did it until I saw the video. I believed that you did." She confessed, looking away as she shut her eyes tight.

The thought of it made her heart hurt so badly. How would she have felt if she was in Demilade shoe? If he had decided to accuse her of something she never did? As stupid as she was, she was even deciding to just accept the fact that he cheated on her if he came to apologize and was truly remorseful and just move on from it because she love him. But that was never the case. He never even do it in the first place. And she had spent three weeks and more, three solid weeks and more to mop over something that never happen. Three weeks to make him feel guilty over what he never did and to make him worry over nothing. She didn't even give him the benefit of the doubt despite she claimed she love him. She didn't consider how he must have felt. And she claimed she love him when all she did was just think about only herself alone.

What a girlfriend she was!

How could she say she love him when she couldn't trust him that much? What's a relationship without trust?

"I'm sorry." She apologized again, sniveling.

God knows she was sincerely sorry. She really was sorry for everything.

She was really sorry for being inconsiderate, and selfish and for the accusation and the doubts. She was really sorry for all of it.

She bends down, exhausted and feeling weak from everything. She leaned her hands on her knee and kept weeping.

Demilade moved closer to her and he raised her chin, gently. It pained him so much to see the tears on her face.

He understood that she blamed herself for some of the things that happened like doubting him, accusing him, and blocking him out. But it was enough that she was remorseful about it and she sincerely regret it. He never expected or want her to beat herself up like she was doing at the moment.
