Lola heaved a sigh, but said nothing. Ibukun waited hoping to hear her say anything but she got no response.

"Lola, I'm actually craving that jollof rice you always made. The one I had at the restaurant wasn't really that good unlike yours. It's been quite some time since you cook something. Shey you won't forget how to cook with all this serene that you're doing?" She was actually hoping to make her smile and force her to do something. But Lola didn't even seem like she heard what she said to her.

She exhaled loudly and said, "Anyway I have said my own o. I need to go and change out of these cloth." She stood and left with her jacket and bag.

Ibukun who was busy watching her makeup tutorial video on TikTok paused and groaned on hearing the grumble of her stomach. She was famished considering the amount of food and snacks she took that day. And she was craving something else aside from Lola's jollof rice that she won't get any time soon.

She was too lazy to cook. Not that she always cooks or loves doing it either. Fortunately for fast food and Mama put, God knows she would have starved to death since she left her parent's house to live on her own.

She decided she need to get something to eat, so she picked up her handbag to take money from it. Then she noticed something in it. She took it with the money she needed to get what she wants to buy and left the room.

Lola was laying on her side on the only long armchair in the living room. Ibukun walked up to her side and tapped her leg repeatedly. She tilted her head to glare at Ibukun.

"Sit up, there is something that I need to tell you." She said to her as she took a seat on the polished wooden center table in front of the armchair. "I'm not going to take much of your time. I am famished right now and I no fit talk too much."

Slowly, Lola sat up on the chair, folding her legs together.

"You know I have been talking to you about this fight between you and your fiancé," Lola's face was expressionless and Ibukun just sighed and continued. "and I don't really have much to say right now. I have said all I need to say and you know that I am always here for you. I won't do anything to harm you. I want your best interest. That's all I am going to say. So, here, take this." Ibukun handed the flash drive she took from her bag to Lola. "You need to watch what is inside the flash drive. That contains the truth about what happened. So it is left for you to watch it and decide what is next." She stood up dusting away imaginary dust from her buttock. "I'm hungry. I need to get something to eat. I'm going to the aboki in the next street to buy Indomie and egg. I might take some time to talk with the guys in the bar beside Aboki." Lola nodded. "You don't need to wait for me. You can go to bed if you want to. Or do you also want Indomie?" She asked.

Lola shook her head in disagreement.

"No, thank you." She muttered quietly.

"Na you know. I dey go o." And she walked out of the room.

Lola dropped the flash drive on the table and laid back on the sofa she was sitting on. Shortly, after she slept off.

It was an hour and a half later that she woke up from her slumber. She stood up and walked to the door that was still unlocked which means Ibukun was yet to come home. She looked at the apple-shaped wall clock and it was really late. She knew she was probably with the guys at the bar. She had been hanging less with her male population of friends since she came over. And the visit has also reduced.

But it was getting late. She knew she was probably having the fun of her life and she won't really blame her because she had been nothing but a headache and boredom to her. But that didn't make her less concerned. She was still worried because of the security of the country. And the only way she could get in contact with her was to go over to the other street or call her. She preferred the latter. It was getting late and she need to make sure she is safe.
