Kaylani and Rodney have been besties since they were kids. They've been through a lot together and swore to be besties 4L. But senior year had different plans for them.

at that point i was full and wanted to go home, but i needed to stop by one more store before i went back home. i really wanted to get some crocs to customize them, so i went into the croc store. i grabbed some white crocs and i'm going to order the charms on amazon cause croc know they wrong for making em cost that much per charm.
i got to the cash register, the girl rung up my crocs and she said "your total is $64.2" as i was about to swipe my card, this tall brown skin boy put an $100 bill on the counter and said "i got it."
i said "no, thank you. i got it." giving him back his money, but he took it out my hand and handed it to the cashier. she gave him his change, then me my bag and i thanked her. while walking out of line i said to the boy "you didn't have to pay for me, i had the money." chuckling.
" i mean obviously, but i seen how them girls was doing you and wanted to see what was up with that." he replied.
"oh them. they go to my school and always mean for no reason. i'm not worried about to them, all they do is talk about people." i said.
"you need to slap one of them hoes, bet they won't keep talking out they neck." he said while laughing.
"i'm too pretty for allat. what's your name?" i asked.
"pretty? stop lying to yourself." he chuckled. "my name jj, hbu?"
"hater." i said while mugging him. "kaylani, but you can call me lani."
"well alright lil lani, see you later!" he said while walking away.
"bye stranger!" i said heading to my car and driving home.

when i got home my mom was in the kitchen baking. "hey ma, what you baking?" i asked.
"girl, some brownies FOR ME." she spat.
"oop, sharing is caring. i'm getting some."
"aurora get out my kitchen." she said calling me by my middle name.
"i'll be in my room waiting for my brownies!" i said going upstairs.
i put all my bags in my closet and laid on my bed calling rodney.
"yooooo." he answered.
"hey best, just got home from the mall wyd?" i asked.
"nothing, just watching this movie with this lil bastard."
"put him on the phone."
"kaden this ugly girl wanna talk to you." he said
"ewwww, no i don't like ugly girls." i heard kaden say.
"KAYDEN, it's me! lani!" i said hoping i was on speaker.
"ohhh lani?" he said. "she not ugly. hi lani."
"hey baby." i chuckled. "you being good for your uncle?"
"yes."
"no the hell he not." rodney yelled in the background.
gasping i said "WOWWW, you lying to me kaden?"
"noooo, my uncle lying i was good." he said sadly.
"aww, i beleive you k."
"yayyy."
"give your musty uncle back the phone k."
"what lil girl?" rodney asked taking the phone.
"school in 2 weeks, remember what we said?" i asked.
"talking to people more? and me finally joining the football team? yeah."
"YEP!" i cheesed. "i can't wait to be your biggest fan at all your games!"
"you better be the loudest one too." he chuckled. "nah, ion think you can beat my mama."
"sholl can't." i laughed. "our senior year gone be a movie!"
"girl bye! lil ass film." he joked.
"whatever nigga. i'm going to sleep, im tiredddd. goodnight." i said while yawning.
"alright youngin, goodnight. but let's go out tomorrow."
"bet, text me." i said and hung up.
