"How long has it been since you last saw any of them?" He asked wanting to know more
"Middle school prom night, after that I changed schools and left for good" they explained "best decision of my life" they added.
'Maybe it is time to talk about it'
"When I was little, making friends was pretty hard. The first time that I met my first 'friend' I thought that our friendship would last forever" they started, Kylo listened to every word he knew this was hard for them and didn't want to miss anything.
"When more people became my friend, I was determined to be a good one" they started "I was just so tired of being alone.." taking a deep breath, they prepared to continue.
"As the time went by... it got worse. I was the one to listen to all their problems, the one that kept the peace, the one that did whatever they were told to do without question" their voice started to crack at the end but they kept their composure.
"she controlled so many aspects of my life and... I let her, all because I thought that's what friends do" they paused "that they controlled what you did and made you into their perfect little puppet" they said holding back tears
"I did whatever I was told, I didn't want to disappoint them.. even if it meant sacrificing my own peace" they said "I gave them my all so I could be loved"
"Not even the other kids were better. Each one of them found a way to make my life terrible and no one cared because if a boy hits you it means he likes you apparently. No! They made my life hell and grown adults let them" that statement made Kylo want to find each and every one of those people and torture them until they begged to be killed.
No child should be told that someone being violent towards them means they love them.
"Even as I got older, I felt like things weren't getting better. After I left, they never spoke to me again" they stated "I watched as they lived without any consequences while I was left behind with so much anxiety and depression" they said
"I was never good enough for anyone no matter how hard I tried or how much I gave" they stated
"what else did I have to give? My sanity? My life? Nothing was ever enough!" They exclaimed
"Haven't I given enough already?!" They cried out
Marysol cried, finally letting all of their bottled up emotions out. At least they weren't alone, Kylo was there even if they couldn't touch him, he was still there.
"Take your time sweetheart, don't push yourself too hard. I'm not going anywhere" he coos, Kylo sees Muchi come closer and sit next to her human "none of us are" he adds
They sniffled as their sobs died down.
"But I'm getting better. Slowly but surely. Now I'm here, next to you" they finished as they turned to Kylo with a smile.
"And... It does feel better after you talk about it" they whispered
"I'm glad, you are braver than so many of the warriors I have seen in my lifetime. I'm relieved that after all of the pain you suffered you didn't go down a path that would lead to more suffering" he stated
"Thank you for listening.. for being here" they smiled and wiped a few tears away
"I'll always be here for you, no matter what" he says
He was genuinely glad that Marysol didn't go down the same path he did, a path that would've caused more pain, something that he wished he knew before.
Marysol turned towards him and looked deep into his hazel eyes that appeared to have hints of gold in them. He meant every last word, they swore their heart skipped a beat after he said those things.
"How are you feeling?" Kylo asks after seeing a change in their expression. A look that he didn't quite fully understand.
"I feel.. better. Of course my issues won't magically go away but at least I know now that talking about it can help me through stuff like this" they let him know drying the last of their tears.
"Again, thank you" they said
"You don't have to thank me little one. It's the least I could do" he responded
"I wish I could hug you" they said almost in a whisper.
Kylo was trying to keep his gaze on their eyes but he couldn't help but shift his gaze towards their lips.
"I wish I could do more..." he whispered quickly regretting it, he moved away and cleared his throat.
"I mean I wish I could do more to comfort you" he said his cheeks turning pink, they laughed a bit
"It's ok ghost man, you don't have to explain yourself" they joked
"Why do you keep calling me Ghost man?" He questioned sounding a bit offended
"What do I have to do to convince you that I'm real" he said crossing his arms
"You're going to have to kiss me" they smirked at him "which probably will never happen because we can't even touch each other so" they joked
Both Kylo and Marysol leaned back into the bench and watched the beautiful scenery or whatever it was Kylo had in front of him at the moment.
"Challenge accepted" he spoke which caught Marysol off guard
"What?" They asked
"Wherever you are in the Galaxy, I will find you and the first thing I'm doing is showing you that I'm real" he explained
"Keep dreaming ghost man because that will probably never happen" they joked
"We'll see" he whispered
