"Right," Henry said. "Thanks." He then flipped the book open.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. Why?" Henry asked. I decided not to answer and let the subject drop.
Y/n's POV:
I watched Henry as he opened the book, intensely staring at the pages. He seemed a bit off to me... I didn't know why.
"Your coffee Y/n," Ruby said, handing me the drink I had ordered a few minutes ago.
"Thanks, Ruby," I said with a smile.
"And your drink," Ruby said, handing Henry a drink as well.
"Oh, but I didn't order one," Henry said.
"Don't worry about it," I said. "I ordered it for you!"
"Oh, thanks," Henry said, looking at the drink. "Hot chocolate?" He said, wondering what it was.
"Ya," I said wearily. "We always come in here for Hot chocolate. It even has cinnamon on it too, just how you like it."
"Oh, right. Cinnamon." He took a swig of the drink and continued reading. I decided that he probably wasn't in the mood to talk at the moment so I quickly finished my coffee and then headed toward my dad at the bar.
"Hey Dad," I said.
"Hey Y/n," He said, turning around. "What's up?"
"Oh, nothing. I just wanted to tell you that I am going to head back to Snow's and am probably gonna go to bed early."
"That's a good idea lass. Thanks for all your hard work out there. Sweat dreams," He said, kissing my forehead. I walked out of the diner onto the cold street. I couldn't wait to sleep in the nice bed I had been given earlier when I first arrived at Storybrook. Snow had kindly let me stay with Henry in their apartment.
It was quite nice in this town. It was the kind of town I had dreamed of settling down in. It was... Perfect.
The wind stirred the edge of my coat as I stood at the corner of Main and Mifflin, halfway between obligation and something far more dangerous.
Snow's apartment was only a few blocks away. I should've kept walking.
But then I saw the chipped lettering on the old brick building across the street: Storybrooke Police Department.
And just like that, my feet stopped obeying.
I let out a breath and turned, the sharp click of my boots on pavement the only sound breaking the night's quiet. The key was still in its usual hiding spot, tucked beneath the welcome mat like nothing had changed since the last time I was here—except, of course, everything had.
I slipped inside, greeted by familiar silence. The scent of paper, ink, and lingering coffee filled the air as I passed through the empty hallway, each step pulling me closer to the room I knew too well.
The cell was still there in the corner, bathed in pale moonlight through the blinds. And in it, slouched against the wall with that maddening grin, was Felix.
"Wow," he drawled, voice thick with amusement. "You must've really missed me."
"Oh, how the mighty have fallen," I replied, a smirk tugging at my lips.
He leaned forward, resting his forearms on his knees, blond hair falling into his eyes. "You're obsessed with me, aren't you?"
I raised a brow, stepping closer. "And you clearly can't take your eyes off me either."
