I clenched my jaw. Someone had clearly been watching me while I was on my father's ship far more closely than I realized.

"But if I don't shoot—"

He leaned in, his breath brushing my ear, voice soft and cruel. "Then Henry takes the arrow. Or maybe... you get a taste of Dreamshade yourself. Just like dear Uncle Liam."

My blood went cold.

Around us, the Lost Boys began chanting. "Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!"

I looked at Henry. His wide eyes locked with mine, scared but trusting. I felt the weight of the bow in my hand and the pressure of Pan's gaze on my back.

Felix stepped into position, a smirk tugging at his lips. He placed the apple on his head like it was part of some performance he'd rehearsed. "Don't tremble too much, princess," he said under his breath.

I narrowed my eyes. Oh, I wasn't trembling.

I drew the arrow back. Every nerve screamed at me. The string trembled between my fingers. And then—

I turned.

The arrow flew, whistling through the air—and landed mere inches from Peter's chest. He caught it with a laugh, fingers closing around the shaft like this was all part of his game.

The Lost Boys erupted in cheers.

"Told you it'd be exhilarating," Peter said, spinning the arrow before tossing it away. Another boy grabbed the bow from my hands, relieving me of its weight. My pulse pounded in my ears.

Peter turned to Henry. "Now, why don't you come with me?"

"No," I said sharply. "He's not going anywhere without me."

Peter's smile faltered—just a touch. Then he sighed. "Felix? Mind showing our guest around? Maybe go find some firewood?"

Felix tilted his head. "With pleasure."

As Peter took Henry's arm and led him away, I stepped forward, only for Felix to block me.

"Move," I hissed.

"No can do."

Frustrated, I spun and stormed toward the trees—better to get away than watch Henry disappear. But Felix's hand caught my wrist.

"Don't touch me," I snapped.

In one clean motion, I grabbed his arm, pivoted, and flipped him over my shoulder. He hit the ground with a satisfying thud. Around us, the Lost Boys burst into laughter.

"Nice," one of them whistled. "Didn't see that coming."

Felix groaned and pushed himself up, eyes flashing. I took off into the forest without another word.

Branches tore at my arms as I ran. I didn't care. Somewhere on this cursed island, Emma had to be searching for us. If I could find her, we could fight back. Together.

But behind me, the sound of pursuit grew louder. He was fast. Faster than I expected.

Then—a weight slammed into me. I crashed to the forest floor with a gasp, the wind knocked clean out of my lungs.

I opened my eyes.

Felix hovered above me, his body pressing mine into the dirt, one arm braced against my throat. His breath was hot on my cheek.

"Nice move," he said, a smirk dancing on his lips. "You'll have to teach it to me sometime."

"Only in your dreams," I shot back. "Assuming you even have the coordination for it."
