Tw- swearing, and mentions of not eating

No one's POV

"Today Class, we are learning about simplifying fractions!" Mr Puth exclaimed at the front of the class. Ze then started scribbling some numbers onto the blackboard with chalk.

Anthony sits and stares, not paying a morsel of attention as Mr Puth Continues writing and asking people if they knew the answer, the questions getting harder and harder to do. "Anthony! Do you know the answer?" Mr Puth queries him.

The boy falls silent as he thinks. "Is it ⅝?" mumbles Anthony, completely unsure if he's right or not.
"Close, does anyone want to help Ant?"

No hands go up

Even the teacher is silent

"It's ⅞" Mr Puth sighs and scribbles the answer on the board. He then hands everyone a sheet for them to complete, "You all must complete at least the first page within the 35 minutes we have left of today's lesson.".

Not even after three seconds, everyone puts their heads down and starts writing, everyone except Anthony.

Mr Puth silently walks to Ant's desk and places a yellow piece of square plastic with pitch black numbers on it. "I got you a times table square, thought that would help.. also, here's an easier sheet," ze places the bright white sheet onto the desk, "Incase the first one gets too difficult, do that instead.".

Anthony's POV

'Why is he giving me this worthless square of plastic? Does he think I'm stupid or something!?'

I discard the square and start writing on the easier sheet that I've to do first. But after a short while I start struggling to completing the questions so I reach over for the plastic thing he gave me and bring it to where I'm sitting.

"Can I see your work?"
I look up to see Mr Puth standing above me, he takes my sheet and starts marking it.

'They're... all correct!?'

I stare at my paper, "What..?" I mutter. "Well done, Anthony." Mr Puth smiles to me as I sit there, looking down at my paper, momentarily stunned.

*RING*

The bell rings and my classmates start getting their stuff and leaving, so I do the same, but Mr Puth stops me.

"What is it sir?" I question zer.

"I just want to say, that you did very well today, yet it isn't enough to raise your grade, sadly." Ze sighs.

"Is that all?".

"Yes, yes it is"

"Good." I hiss. I throw my bag over my shoulder and head home.

"What do you mean it barely helped your grade!?" Lexi yells at me. Tammy is hiding behind the door, staring at us. "I tried my best. I can't do math, you know this!" I say to her as she paces back and forth in the kitchen.

Her footsteps are starting to getting more and more irritating, all it is, is feet tapping against the polished wood floor, but it sure as hell was annoying.

"Can you please fu-" I yelled.
I almost blurted out a swear, but I stopped myself.

"Continue?" Lexi smiles.
She knows what I was about to do.
