Lucas Friar had exhaled while he looked around the school noticing yet again that Maya wasn't there. Maya had skipped school a few times before but that was because of a fight that she and him had gotten into and as far as Lucas knew he didn't do anything to piss off his girlfriend. At least not what he was aware of.

"Riley, where is Maya? I haven't seen her at all today," Lucas said as Riley looked at him.

"It's your birthday. Haven't you heard from her this morning?" Riley asked as Lucas shook his head.

"Then she didn't eat either because she wasn't at our place," Riley said as Lucas got out his phone.

"That's weird," Lucas said as he called Maya's number but the call didn't go through.

"Okay. School is over and before the huge party my parents are throwing happens, I'm going to find out what's going on with her. I'll see you guys later," Lucas said as he went out of the school.

Walking to Maya's apartment Luca had started to make a list of all the reasons why Maya wouldn't have eaten at the Matthews, why she ditched school, why she was ignoring him but nothing had came to mind. Maya was doing well lately and Lucas would even go as far as say that she was happy. But that didn't explain why she was acting like she was.

"Lucas," Katy said as Lucas smiled at the woman.

"It's nice to see you. What are you doing here? I thought you and Maya would be celebrating your birthday," Katy said.

"That would've been nice but she's been ignoring me all day and hasn't gone to school. Skipped the Matthew breakfast so I'm pretty worried about her," Lucas said as Katy looked at him.

"I don't know if she's inside but you can check. Spare key is under the doormat," Katy said.

"Okay thank you," Lucas said as he went up into the apartment.

Unlocking the door Lucas saw the apartment clean while looking around to find Maya. Not seeing her he had gone down the hall and opened her bedroom door seeing her laying in bed.

"Here you are. We've been..." Lucas said as he had noticed her eyes blood red and tears rolling down her face.

"Maya," Lucas said as he sat down next to her placing his hand on her back.

"What's wrong?" Lucas asked as Maya avoided eye contact with him.

"Maya talk to me. What is going on?" Lucas asked as Maya sighed gently closing her eyes.

"Honey?" Lucas said as Maya's eyes opened again but she looked at her side table.

Lucas had looked at her before turning his head as he saw the positive pregnancy tests laying on the table. Lucas exhaled as he had laid down next to Maya taking her into his arms holding her tight as she wrapped her arms around his body.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered as Lucas shook his head.

"No. You have nothing to be sorry for. Nothing. I don't ever want you to think that. Maya, I love you so much. More than you'll ever know and I don't ever want you to think I'm going to blame you for this. Ever," Lucas said as Maya laid her head on his chest.

"I love you too," Maya said as Lucas exhaled.

"Don't be sorry then," Lucas said as they laid in Maya's bed a little longer cuddling and allowing each other to feel what they had to feel to process the unexpected news that was brought to them.
