"No, please no!" I whisper. My legs fall from under me, but the Vampire holds me with ease and continues to drain me. The feeling of losing this much blood is almost peaceful. Almost. Drowsiness washes over me, but I can't fall asleep because of the burning of the venom rushing throughout my whole body. I close my eyes and stop struggling, too weak to do anything other than breathe.

"Elizabeth!" Daniel's heartbreaking shout enters my ears. I open my eyes, and I see a blurry Daniel and Isaac run towards me. The Vamp finally pulls away from me and I fall halfway to the ground before Isaac catches me, and gently lowers me to the asphalt.

Above me, I see Daniel plunge his stake through the Vampires heart, a look of pure fury covering his face. The Vamp falls to the ground with a gasp and stares up into Daniel's eyes until they close.

I feel my heart start to slow down as the venom kills me. Even without the poison, I'd be a goner. My breathing becomes ragged and my lungs feel as if they can't be filled. The thought of dying and never coming back enters my mind and I panic.

"Did he inject his venom?" Isaac asks, grabbing my wrist and checking my pulse. Closing my eyes, I give a slight nod and my body erupts in fire. I curl into a little ball to try and take away the burning flame. I groan at the effort and pain.

I hear Daniel move over next to me and he grabs my hand. I squeeze it softly and he does to. "It hurts." I moan.

"I know. I love you." A tear falls onto my arm.

"I love you to." I whisper back.

"What do you want us to do?" Isaac asks the question that's probably been haunting both of their minds. I'm about to answer, but three sets of footsteps interrupts me.

"Elizabeth!" Tracy, a good friend of mine, screams and falls next to me. "What happened?" She asks Isaac and Daniel.

"Four ganged up on us. She killed one and went for the leader. Before she could stake him, he grabbed her. It was too late when we got to her." Daniels voice cracks.

"So what do you want to do, Lizzy?" Isaac asks again.

"Just..." I take a deep breath. "Just do the normal method" The normal, or traditional method is being buried and digging yourself out after you change. "We'll figure out what to do after that."

"Alright." He sighs.

The pain intensifies and I gasp. Curling myself into a smaller ball, I squeeze Daniels hand as hard as I can, which is probably only a little grip. He squeezes lightly back and it distracts me from the burning of my lungs and body. I never imagined it would hurt this bad.

"Please...Don't kill... me." I manage to wheeze out.

"We would never do that." Daniel sniffles.

"Hey, don't cry... It's not like I'm dying." I try to comfort me as much as them.

"Well sort of. You're going to be the living dead." I can almost see Isaac smile sadly. Isaac and I have been best friends since second grade, and we haven't hinted anything about wanting to be more than friends.

"I love..." I trail off and struggle to get air in. Daniel clenches my hand tighter than before and I squeeze lightly back before it goes slack.
