I had always been considered a good girl by everyone. In kindergarten, I was always the child the teacher told all of the other kids to behave like. In middle and high school, I had managed to get every teacher to love me and won almost every academically related competition. I always did what I was told and always did what I was supposed to. I never talked back, I never broke the rules and I never did anything to deliberately hurt anyone.

Some people would say I was perfect, especially my parents. Even though I was a college student, I still lived at home with my parents because I had decided to do online schooling. I mainly did it to please my parents. I wanted to travel and explore and break out of this sheltered life, but I never did. My parents pretty much begged me to stay near them for college, but there weren't many great colleges in the surrounding area to choose from, so I finally settled on staying with my parents while I had classes online. While all of my friends went to different states for college, I was stuck here, bored out of my mind.

Sometimes I wished I had crazy experiences to think back on and laugh about, but I had nothing. Sometimes I even wished that there were times that I disappointed my parents, merely because I never had any exciting or insane moments in my life. The most exciting experience I could think of was graduation, which wasn't all that exciting considering all my friends left afterward and I was going to still be living at home.

I was sitting with my laptop in front of me, doing my daily dose of online schooling when my parents walked into the living room, interrupting me.

"Oh, Avalon, we're sorry to interrupt sweetie, but your father and I are going to be running some errands and we're probably going to be gone until late. Do you need anything?" my mom asked.

I shook my head and gave her a smile. "Oh no thank you, mom. I'm fine."

"Okay, sweetie," she replied and kissed my forehead. "We'll see you later."

"Call if you need anything, okay?" my dad chimed in.

I smiled and nodded. "Will do."

With that being said, they waved goodbye to me one more time before leaving.

I sighed in satisfaction. It was nice to have the house to myself for a bit, but what wasn't very nice was my loss of concentration at the moment. I only had twenty more minutes left of school for the day, but I felt as if there was no way that I could get through it.

"C'mon, Avalon. Don't be lazy," I muttered to myself under my breath.

Just as I was about to focus again, I heard loud, obnoxious yelling coming from outside. I peered out of the window only to see Kian Lawley, the neighborhood 'bad boy' and his partner in crime, Jc Caylen. They both lived directly across the street from me and to say that it sucked, was an understatement. They were always unnecessarily loud, they always caused a scene and were constantly throwing stupid parties.

Today they were outside riding their penny boards, which I was totally fine with. What I wasn't fine with, however was their loud yelling of profanities. Well Kian's loud yelling of profanities mostly.

I sighed and got off of the couch and walked toward the door. I opened it and stepped onto the porch, annoyed mostly with Kian at the moment because he was the main one yelling, as usual. Jc actually wasn't so bad, speaking honestly. He was usually pretty chill for the most part, whereas Kian was really loud and destructive.

I walked down the stairs and off the porch, toward them. Once Kian noticed me, he hopped off his penny board and walked toward me as well. He ended up a little bit too close to me than I was comfortable with, but that was typical Kian right there.

"Hey Avalon, what's up baby?" he asked, trying to sound flirty.

"I'm inside trying to study right now, but you're being so loud that I can't quite concentrate," I told him calmly.

Kian stepped a bit closer to me, as if that were possible and snaked his arms around my waist. He then pulled me closer until our bodies were touching lightly. "And what exactly are you asking me to do?" he whispered in my ear.

I knew what he was doing and I wasn't going to tolerate it. I instantly pushed him off of me, much to his surprise. Kian was used to every girl falling for his stupid games. Most girls would never even think of rejecting Kian Lawley, but I obviously wasn't like most girls. "I would love it if you would just be a bit quieter please," I asked politely. "Just for about twenty minutes, please?"

Kian ignored my question and began to look me up and down, smirking. I chose the wrong day to wear short shorts.

"You need to loosen up a bit, babe."

"Is that so?" I asked, a bit annoyed.

"Yeah, maybe you should hop on and ride," he told me, biting his lip. "And I'm not talking about my penny board," he said with a wink.

I merely stared at him blankly, completely unamused by his immature statement. I actually thought about slapping that stupid smirk off of his face, but decided against it. I took a few steps back before speaking.

"Just be quiet for twenty minutes okay?" I asked looking back and forth between him and Jc.

"You could come back to my place and hang out with me?" Kian suggested with a wink.

Annoyed by his statement, I turned around and headed back to my house.

"Go ahead and do your boring studying," Kian shouted as I kept walking. "If you change your mind, you know where to-"

I slammed the door behind me before he could finish his statement. With a sigh, I sat back down with my laptop and continued trying to work. A few moments later, I heard the guys being loud again. I sighed loudly. This was going to be a long day.
