"Ain't that ya boy right there?" Leon asked pointing to Derrick and his boys hanging outside of the waffle house.

"We can see if he heard something" I pulled into the lot.

Leon adjusted the gun on his waist before we got out the car.

"Jay!" He greeted. "I heard y'all got shot at last night. Everybody straight?" Derrick asked as we dapped up.

"Yeah we all good" I nodded my head.

"You know who did it?"

"Nah, that shit was random."

"Maybe ya boy mouth finally got y'all into some shit" Derrick replied with a slight laugh.

"Then they should've finished the job cause now I'm on they ass" Leon interjected. I watched as they eye'd each other down.

"If you hear anything let me know" I told him.

"I gotchu"

Leon and I began to walk off. "Fuck was that?" I frowned looking over at him.

"I don't fuck with that nigga. It damn near was him" Leon stated glancing over his shoulder.

"Are you saying that cause you don't like him or you actually feel like it's him" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"It's him. It's just something shiesty about his ass"

"Jay!" I heard a feminine voice yell out. I looked around trying to see who was calling out to me. My eyes finally settled on Dream who was crossing the street with her friend Jayda. They both had large cups of italian ice in their hands.

"What're you doing out here?" I asked looking around.

"Joe's got the best Italian Ice in the city" She replied. "Anyways, I got a car!" She squealed. I couldn't help but smile at her eagerness.

"I heard."

"C'mon lemme take you for a ride" Dream grabbed my hand.

"I'm kinda in the mid-

"I'll just take you around the corner it'll be quick" She handed her cup to Jayda and pulled me away before I could even say no.

"I'm parked right here!" She pulled me over to this silver Kia.

"This you?" I asked as I checked out the car.

"Yup" She pulled out her keys to unlock the door.

"What kind of car is this?" I sat down in the passenger seat and adjusted it to my liking

"2018 Kia Stinger" She pressed the start button and pulled off

"No way you sit that close to the wheel"

"Shut up" She laughed. "Do you like it? It's so nice!"

"Yeah I like it." I couldn't help but watch her as she drove. Seeing her this happy after crying her eyes out yesterday made me happy as well. I didn't realize how much I hated seeing her like that until now.

"What?" She took her eyes off the road for a split second to look over at me.

"Nothing. Yo ugly ass just thirsty." I laughed shaking my head.

"Wooow here I am trying to share my moment with you and you sitting here hating"

"I'm sorry" I chuckled reaching for her hand but she quickly snatched it away.

"Nah fuck you"

"I'm sorry" I grabbed her hand and intertwined it with mine "Congratulations on your first car" I said before kissing her hand.

A big smile appeared on her face "Boy bye" She snatched her hand out my grip.

"I like your bracelet. Who got you that?"

"Some ugly ass nigga that won't leave me alone" Dream shrugged her shoulder.

"Damn I'm ugly now?"

"You literally just called me ugly two seconds ago"

"You know you fine ass fuck" I replied reaching for her hand again.

"Boy get out my car" She pulled up in front of Leon and Jayda.

"That felt good to say huh?"

"My car." Dream repeated with a smile "I got a car!" She squealed again.

"Bye." I laughed and got out the car.

"Fuck you cheesing for?" Leon frowned at me.

"Nothing, nothing."

"Here's some syrup for your pancakes sir" I placed the hot syrup onto the table before walking off.

"So if you got your car why you still working?"Jayda asked as I joined her behind the bar.

"Cause car insurance taxing like a muhfucka" I rolled my eyes and started to refill the empty baskets of creamer.

"Ooh girl I meant to tell you. I got that nigga number"

"What nigga?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"Leon"

"You did? Girl he has a whole girl. He fuck with my stylist" I replied.

"Shit he told me he single. That's good enough for me" She shrugged her shoulders "I told you I like Fendi and yachts."

"Girl just because Jay cool with that white man with the yacht don't mean Leon is too"

"Only one way to find out"

"Good fucking bye" I laughed and rolled my eyes. I looked over and one of my tables was waving me down. He started showing me his wallet indicating he was ready to pay. I printed out his receipt before going over to his table.

"Sorry about that. My friend was telling me a story" I smiled.

"No problem. Hey, I can't help but notice how familiar you look. Do I know you?"

"No I don't think so" I replied with a fake smile. I knew this was his attempt at spitting game.

"You Jay's girl?"

"What?" I replied confused. "No"

"Awe my apologies then" He replied with a smile handing me his card. I took the card from his hand and turned to walk away. I could feel his eyes on me the entire walk back to my station. I touched the screen and tapped on his table so I could close out his order. I glanced over and he was still watching me but he decided to look away once he realized I knew he was watching.

As I swiped his card something told me to check the name on the it.
