Raina's POV

I entered what seemed to be a palace; along with my mother and stepfather. I gotta say, he was loaded.

He showed around the house. It was not until then He showed me my room. It was just as I suspected. It's was way bigger than mother's and I bedroom combined together at our old house. It was so beautiful. The long burgundy drapes that went along with my carpet. All my things were already in my room. I sighed deeply as I dived into my new comfortable bed with silky sheets, a coffee machine, two walk-in closets, a gigantic bathroom, and much more.
I still was a bit iffy on the part where I have to live with the guy that my mother has married, but he makes her happy so I'll just accept it. For now.

As my mother called me for dinner, I couldn't help but smile. As I slipped on some shorts and some random shirt, on,  I walked out of my room. And I couldn't help but notice a room across mine shut. I wondered what was in there.

I took another glance at the eerie door and walked downstairs. I smiled as my stepfather pulled out a chair for me to sit in. "Thank you," I said. He nodded in return.

Dinner was boring for the most part. Mother and he were talking about some meeting up in Canada. He swiftly turned his attention to me. "So Raina, I believe you haven't met my son yet."

"No. Isn't that room that is across from mine his?" I asked.

"Yes." He replied as he smiled.

I nodded and returned to my food and thoughts hoping he wouldn't ask me any other questions.  I spoke too soon.

"He is a college professor. I'm sure he'd be excited to meet you."

What? How old is He? And why is he still living with his dad?

"If you don't mind me asking, why is he still living with you if he's a college professor?" I asked, shifting slightly in my comfortable seat.

He chuckled a little and said, "He owns this house. Your mother and I are just living here for about two more days before we go to Canada. We'll leave you guys alone for the whole year to test your responsibility. It's what I did to Adam and looks how he's turned out. And we will do the same for you."

Me alone with a stranger. Without my mom? What kind of parenting is this? My mom wouldn't even let me hang out with friends without parental supervision before she met this guy!

"Well, that went well. " He said smiling back. "But there's another thing you need to know about Ad-" I cut him off before He could say. My phone was buzzing like crazy as I tried to text my old friend, Louiee but I nicknamed her Momo.

"Young lady! You just interrupted your father and you know the rule. No phones at the table." My mother seethed through her teeth causing wrinkles to appear on her flawless skin.

"Father?" I asked as snorted. She just crossed her arms. I sighed and quietly left the table. As I was walking to my room, I heard mother's voice. "OK, I definitely think we have to do it." I rolled my eyes and popped in headphones in my ear. As sleep consumed me.

"""""""""""""""

2 hours later

My eyes fluttered open to a shuffling sound. I tried to get on my elbows, but I couldn't move. All I could move was my eyes.
Two warm hands slid on to my thighs. I shuttered at the feeling. The hands disappeared. And I could move again.

What. The. Llamas.

I ran to the bathroom outside of my room. I don't know why, but I want to keep mine as clean as possible. So I went to the bathroom and checked if there was anything wrong with me. Nothing. I splashed my face with water and walked out. Through the hallway, a strange figure was trying to open the weird door that was across from my room. Could it have been Adam? Suddenly, he turned to me in the dark. I couldn't see his face, but I knew he smiled because he had an unusual glow from his now to be presumed as pearly whites.
I just stood there as he just stared at me. Not too soon, headed into his room. As I tried to recover, I stood there for a few minutes. I then headed back to my room. As soon as soon as I reached my bed my lids got heavier, and I was out cold.

So, in the first chapter. The first chapter isn't as exciting, but I hope you stick around for more chapters to come.
