I heard the chirping birds outside the window. I slowly open my eyes and sat up, still yawning. Summer will soon be over, and I don't know how will I spend my remaining days without sucking it all up. I've been sleeping and eating my whole summer days, and hopefully I didn't gain too many pounds.

"Chanel?" I called. Chanel's my flatmate, and she is quite older than me. I'm 17, she's 22.

I called her name again, but she didn't reply at all. I tiptoed to the kitchen, trying not to wake her up because probably she is still sleeping in the next room beside mine. But to my surprise, I found a note from her on the dining table.

Hi Melody, I gotta go over my mother's house for the weekend. Don't worry, I did the grocery already and cooked Burritos for you ;)

Chanel

Great. How am I supposed to eat those if I really hate them? Oh Chanel, you know I hate burritos. Are you trying to pull out something in here?

I groaned and went back to my room. I threw my most casual clothes, and brought some dollars with me. I'd prefer to eat junk rather than those disgusting burritos.

Walking to the nearest convenience store, I looked around and saw men pasting a huge poster of Clarence Smith on the wall. Clarence Smith.. oh yeah, him. He is a rising star who recently won a very famous singing contest. He is good-looking, yes, and he is so talented. And he's number one on my hot guy list.

As I enter the conveniece store, I bumped into a guy with sunglasses and a hat. I indeed find his fashion statement funny, well duh, we're on the city. Not on the beach.

"Sorry," I whispered. He just ignored me and continued to walk.

I just bought a cup of noodles then paid it. When I went outside the store, I saw the guy with a weird taste of fashion and I can't help but to stare at him. Wait, he's familiar. I think I've seen him before, but I cannot clearly point it out..

I walked quite near to him because the newspaper stands are over there. I picked up one newspaper and the headline is about this Clarence Smith again.

"Do you think they won't know..?" I heard the guy said in a very low voice. He is talking to someone over the phone. I tried not to glance at him, and focused on reading the newspaper.

"Huh? What if anyone of them learns that I just bribed the judges? Oh please.. if I get busted, my career will turn into a huge wreck."

I just kept on listening. Judges? Bribe? Career? I think this guy recently won a competition, and he used the most common technique to win.

"All right, all right. Bye." he hangs up the phone. He walked beside me and looked at the newspapers. I can see more clearly his face, and I know he really looks like someone I know.

Then he walks away, and I can't take off my eyes on him. Hey, who are you? Why do you look so familiar?

I started to walk back home when I noticed a wallet. I picked it up and asked the people around if they own it. But they said no, and probably the weird guy owns it. Oh, I can't see him around anymore. He probably got quite distant now. Uh, maybe he has a calling card in here or something right? Maybe one peek won't be a huge trouble.. besides, I'll give it back.

I opened it and widened my eyes at what I saw. There's a driver's license in here.. and this wallet's owner is the rising star Clarence Smith.
