"I don't want to disturb you or anything" I said quietly, lowkey hoping that he won't hear me.

Please tell me to go. Please, please.

"No. It's not disturbing. It's his birthday anyway, it would be amazing to have a friend over" he smiled.

Friend. I quickly place a bright smile on my lips, nodding my head.

"I'll be happy to go then" I told him. He hummed.

"You have a little brother, right? Bring him too if he's free" he added. I stared at the view in front of me.

Of course, he doesn't want it to be just us two.

"Sure, is there anyone else that will be there?" I asked him curiously.

"Yeah, my close friend. That's why I told you to bring your brother, so we won't be with an odd number of people" he chuckled lightly. I nod.

Not long after, we finally arrived at the mall. Hyunjin pulls over as we both leave his car.

"I'm craving for cakes, do you mind if we grab some cakes first?" Hyunjin asked as soon as we both got in the mall. I shrugged.

"I don't mind. I would love a slice of cake as well" I smiled. He nodded, leading me towards a cake cafe.

We ordered our cakes and waited patiently.

"So, how long has it been since we've known each other? I think it has been awhile, right?" he asked a random question out of nowhere.

"Yeah. I think it's been almost three years now, ever since I joined the company" I answered. He nodded.

"Right, you were so young back then" he mumbled. I crack a short chuckle.

"What do you mean? It's only two years, not twelve. I don't change much" I chuckled. He smiled, shaking his head.

"No, really. You look much prettier now" he said as he gazed into my eyes. My movements were paused as we shared a long gaze. I can hear my heartbeat start to quicken as I can feel butterflies in my stomach.

As if on cue, the waiter came to place our cakes on the table. I quickly look away from him, trying to calm down my racing heart.

"So uh, what will you buy for Kkami?" I asked him after a moment of silence.

"I'm not sure. Either toy or clothes. I may buy both" he shrugged. I nod, satisfied with his answer.

We spent another hour eating and chatting before both of us decided that it's time to find presents for Kkami.

As we walk around the mall, finding numerous pet shops, Hyunjin's hands are now full of paper bags filled with Kkami's special presents.

"Wait, they sell socks and ties there!" Hyunjin chirped happily as he pointed at a shop across from us. I chuckled lightly.

"Hyunjin, you bought a lot already. It could last him clothes and toys for the whole year" I joked. He rolled his eyes jokingly, tugging my sleeves to follow him and head straight inside the shop.

"I want him to have a special birthday" he smiled, checking out the pet clothes on display.

I smiled. Seeing him happy made me feel happy as well. I decided to walk around the shop to find a present for Kkami as well.

Yes, I haven't bought anything for Kkami yet. There are a lot of amazing things from the pet shops, but I'm sure Hyunjin already bought them for his lover.

My eyes suddenly catch a cute black cap with the letter K plastered on it. My lips form a smile.

That's so cute.

I was about to walk away when I realised that it is actually a matching cap for the puppy and its owner. I quickly searched for a human cap with the H letter for Hyunjin.

I smiled happily once I found the right cap. I peek over Hyunjin who is looking through the little socks with a bright smile on his face before sneakily going to the counter to pay for the caps.

I smiled at my little achievement.

"Oh, did you buy something?" Hyunjin asked as soon as he saw a paper bag in my hand. I smiled, nodding my head.

"Yeah, I did. I can't go to someone's birthday party without a present, can I?" I told him. His eyes lit up out of joy.

"What did you buy for him?" he asked excitedly, reaching out for my bag. I quickly move away, hiding the paper bag behind me as I look at him with a small frown.

"It's a surprise, I can't let you know" I blurted out. He looked at me with a small frown before letting out a heartful chuckle.

"Oh, come on. It's for Kkami, not for me. I promise I won't tell him" Hyunjin winked playfully as he tried to reach for the paper bag behind me.

"No!" I move away from him with a small chuckle. He eyed me for a solid second before shrugging.

"Fine. I'm gonna go and pay for this, then we can go get dinner" he smiled, showing me the tiny socks and a whole suit for Kkami before walking towards the counter.

I nodded and plastered a smile on my lips before he walked away.
