Rustle
The Sounds of Laughter filled their ears as both of the boys ran through the field of flowers, the Beaming sun set on being unforgiving and relentless towards them.
Its heat seemed to make anyone feel like they were overheating within just a few seconds...
But... to these two boys, it was merely a sunny day that meant they could play with each other until the sun disappeared from the sky.
"Tag! Your It!"
Tiny giggles erupted from the smaller boy as he ran away, determined to not be caught.
He wouldn't allow himself to be caught so easily by the taller boy.
~~~
They tagged each other back and forth, seemingly never growing tired of it as they ran back and forth, to and from...
This is how it would go on for hours until it reached Sunset.
Both boys were breathing heavily as they propped themselves against each other. Despite it being late and them being so worn out, they kept tagging each other every few seconds, breathing out an exhausted 'tag your it'.
Eventually, both boys would drop to the ground, ending their little game of tag for now as they lay side by side of each other.
They watched the beautiful sunset in the distance with heavy breaths and worn-out bodies.
"Hey -----, Promise we'll be together and happy... Forever..."
"..."
"I Promise ---."
They held eachothers hand as they quietly fell asleep in the field of flowers.
Unfortunately, in only a few years' time, that innocent promise would begin to slowly crumble as the hardships of life would make it impossible for such a promise to be fulfilled.
Life can and will always be unforgiving and relentless, just like the Sun on Hot Summer Days.
