"Stay still

"Stay still." Jungwon reminded for the nth time. He took a cotton ball and dipped it in water to clean the cut on her cheek. They were currently in the infirmary and Jungwon was treating the cut.

She winced at the contact of cold water on her cheek. But that was not what bothered her right now. She gulped when Jungwon came nearer, eyes focused on the cut.

Damin was sure she had a whole zoo in her stomach right now, the fluttering sensation in the pits of her stomach never leaving once. In addition, she could feel her heart racing faster by the second.

She shamelessly started admiring how pretty he looked right now. He looked calm though their faces were mere inches apart. She could feel his hot breath fan against her face as he cleaned the cut.

How can he be so calm...

"This might hurt." He warned. He took another cotton ball and dipped it in the ointment before looking back at her.

He gently dabbed the cotton ball on her cheek, focused written all over his face. Damin slightly grinned at how cute he looked at the moment. Eyebrows a little furrowed, his lips going into a fine line that showed his poke-able dimples.

However, Damin's breath hitched in her throat when he looked at her. Jungwon could feel his heart starting to race when he realized how close they were.

Jungwon snapped out of his trance and cleared his throat. The two exchanged no other words regarding what happened a minute ago and headed back to class.

"What is he doing to me..." Damin muttered to herself. She pinched herself and tried to calm her racing heart down.

The bell rang signaling it was lunchtime.

Jungwon's ears perked up hearing what Mr. Sangwoo said. The class had just ended so he was packing up his things, but since his seat is rather close to the teacher's, he couldn't help but eavesdrop on his phone call.

"The babysitter canceled?" Mr. Sangwoo asked. "I'll try to find someone asap then,"

At that moment, he got a very good idea. Well, not really a good idea but an idea nevertheless. He remembered how his mother nagged at him telling him to get a part-time job or something because he wasted countless hours on gaming.

He'd been wanting to buy some snacks too but he already used up all of his monthly allowance. He looked at Damin who seemed busy with something on her phone and walked towards her.

"Psst, play along." He whispered. Before Damin could say anything else, Jungwon spoke up.

"Jeez, I am free on the weekends but I wish I have something else to do." He said aloud, constantly peeking in Mr. Sangwoo's direction to see if he was hearing the conversation. He signaled Damin to say something so she did.

"Uhm, me too...?" She couldn't help but question his actions. He was being undeniably weird right now.

"Maybe babysit some kids or something, right Damin?" He sent her another look.

"Wha― Uh yes, sure...?"

Jungwon took his bag and headed for the exit with a very confused-looking Damin following closely behind.

"Wait, Jungwon, Damin." Mr. Sangwoo spoke up. Jungwon couldn't help but smile because his plan succeeded.

"Yes sir?"

"I don't usually do this but I'm very desperate." He walked towards them. "The babysitter just canceled on us and we need one asap. Are you guys up for the job?"

Jungwon and Damin looked at each other as if communicating by using telepathy. "Yes."

"That's good then." Mr. Sangwoo grinned. He explained all the details then everything was set. Mr. Sangwoo was very generous when he mentioned how much he'd pay them for it.

"Was that why you told me to play along?" Damin inquired once they left the classroom and Jungwon nodded.

"Just so you know, I have no experience with kids so I hope you're good with them." He said. "Any tips though?"

"We just need to entertain them and it'll be fine."

A nod from Jungwon. He looked at her, examining the cut on her cheek. "Does it still hurt?"

She widened her eyes at the closeness of their faces. "N-not that much."

"Yah, your cheeks are red." He pointed out, looking directly at her.

"Really? Oh wow look at the time. I guess I'll see you tomorrow at Mr. Sangwoo's house. Bye." Damin said quickly, wanting to avoid him.

She didn't understand why her heart started racing faster whenever she was with him. Or why her palms began to sweat or why she felt like she had a whole butterfly farm in her stomach.

She liked this feeling. The giddy feeling whenever Jungwon called her name or when he always gave his undivided attention to her, and her only.

No Damin, liking him should be the last thing I should do.
