The town was the only place that came into mind...Yet I knew that, for some reason, Jeremy would never go down those winding alleyways alone. That meant that he probably went through the 'old town'. It was basically a collection of a few streets with old-fashioned shops on. It was a nice place to go during spring and summer, but they mainly stayed shut during the winter months, and they defiantly were shut on days like this. Jeremy had to be there! I don't know why, but I had the sneaking suspicion that he was somewhere on that street, knocking on each of the doors, just wanting to get warm. I tucked my hands into my pockets and picked up my pace. It only took around five minutes to walk to the place from here, but by running I would get there in around sixty seconds. It was painful to run, as with each step I took the snow rushed into my face at a higher speed. I bit down on my lip, squinted my eyes, and kept on running. I wasn't going to let some crappy snow get in the way of finding...somebody who I hoped was going to be my boyfriend. Now that he had confessed his love to me, I felt the same way about him. Human brains are fucking weird...
I came into the first street of the 'old town' and started to look around. If he wasn't here, then I had no idea where he was. I really didn't...If he was in the main section of the town, then somebody would have spotted him and at least told the police about him. And if the police knew about him, then he would be back at his home, as they would have brought him there. Or Jeremy would have probably told them where I lived, and they would have brought him there. I quickly checked my phone. No calls or texts from Doll. Jeremy wasn't home, then. If he was home then she would've have made some sort of contact with me. Sighing, I placed my phone back into my pocket and slowed down. My heart was beating violently and all of the exposed areas of my skin were numb. I couldn't feel them at all. At least the snow had finally calmed down. It was falling in small flurries now, rather than the wild mess it was falling in earlier.
I started to walk up the street, looking in the windows of the small amount of shops that were open, and the alleyways that were in between them. When I reached the top of the street, and passed a shop called 'Norra's Sweets', I saw it...I saw...him. Jeremy. His back was pressed up against the wall, his knees where up to his chest, and his arms were sprawled out everywhere. His hair brushed against his eyebrows, showing off his pale and bruised face. There was a scarily thick layer of snow covering his chest, legs, arms, and parts of his face. God...How cold must he be?! I ran forward and started to brush all of the snow off from his body. His arms were a light shade of...of blue. Was he dead?! No...No he couldn't be dead! I checked his legs. They too were blue, yet they were darker. They were almost purple because they were that cold! I ripped off my jacket and wrapped it around his body. It probably didn't do much, but if it helped out a little, then it would be fine. I picked up his tiny little wrist and pressed my fingers against it, trying to see if I could feel a pulse. N-Nothing...There was fucking nothing!
I pressed my ears against his chest. No heartbeat to be heard. I needed to save him! I had to save him! CPR....I had to do CPR...I placed both of my hands over the area where I guessed his heart was, took a deep breath, and started to push. I pushed as hard as I could. My fingers shook as I did it, and I could feel sweat start to pour down my face. It was hard work...My arms were killing me. But...But for Jeremy, I would go through the worst kind of pain just so that he would live...I was willing to make that sacrifice. As I was, I guess you could call it, 'thumping' against his chest, I slowly leaned towards his face. For some reason I kissed him. Not on his lips, but on his cheek. A small, gentle peck. Suddenly, a quiet cough came out of his mouth. It was more like a get of air, but at least it was coming from him. I moved my hands away from his chest and lifted him up from the floor.
"Jeremy! J-Jeremy...Speak to me! Say something! Jeremy?!"I yelled, shaking him. He groaned, moving his head away from me and vomiting all over the floor, as well as my legs. I didn't care. He was alive! He was bloody alive! "Jeremy!" I held him close to me, not caring if anybody looking at us thought it was weird. He was alive...Jeremy was alive!
"M-M-Mikey?" He mumbled. He looked up at me. "W-Why did you g-g-get me?" Pain flashed across his face. Wait...Did he really wanna die? Unless it was the pain of his bones freezing up, which they probably where.
"I got you 'cause..." I knew what to say next...And it was the truth. "'Cause I love you...Jeremy." He fell silent. He stared at me like I was insane or something. "Come on, lets get you home. I'll ring Doll and tell her to pick us up, alright?" I pulled my phone from out my pocket, unlocked it, and dialled Doll's number. She picked up in a matter of rings. "Doll! Listen, get the car and come to the old town. I found him. I found Jeremy. Oh, and please bring some blankets or something! The poor things freezing to death." She quickly replied with a 'yes' before hanging up. I stuffed my phone back into my pocket, picked the shivering Jeremy up, and went onto the street, waiting to see her car start coming towards us.
"S-So you actually l-l-love me?" He whispered, weakly wrapping his arms around my neck. I moved my head towards him and placed a kiss on his cheek, like I did when he was knocked out. His entire face turned a bright shade of red. For the first time I knew that it wasn't for a bad reason. It was for a good reason. Doll's car turned down the street and came towards us. As soon as the car stopped I opened up the back seat door and gently placed Jeremy in. On the floor I could see a thick, folded blanket, along with a hot water bottle. I didn't know how it could help him get rid of the hypothermia that he probably had, but at least it would make him feel warmer. I got in next to him, closed the door, picked up the blanket and draped it over him.
The car started to quickly go back to the house. With each bump that we went over, I could see that Jeremy was tensing his entire body more and more. The only reason that I could think off for why he was doing that was because he had some form of travel sickness, or maybe just a general sickness altogether. He had been in snow for endless hours after all. I grabbed the hot water bottle from off the floor, placed it on his stomach, and wrapped my arm around his shoulders. A quiet moan escaped from his mouth as he buried his face into my chest. He was still freezing cold. There was no way that he was going into work tonight...No way at all! He was too sick to function. If he went into work then he would either end up throwing up all over the place, or he would just sit there and not react to a single thing that happened. Even if an animatronic walked into the room, he wouldn't do anything. He would just stare it down and wait for it to leave. Thats what I did whenever I was sick...I would just stare at things until they stopped. Once, when I was around fourteen, my phone kept on ringing and ringing and ringing, and I didn't even reach out and shut it down completely. All I did was pull a pillow over my head and wait for it to stop.
We eventually pulled up outside our house. I lifted Jeremy up and ran inside, wanting him to get into a permanently warm place as quickly as possible. I stepped inside the house, kicked my shoes off, and brought him into my room. The room that he was staying in was way to cold for him. The windows had been wrongly placed, meaning a cold breeze constantly circulated around that room. I was glad that I had cleaned it up earlier now. I placed him onto my mattress and threw the thick bed sheet over him. He had the hot water bottle pressed up against his chest, a thick blanket surrounding his body, as well as one of the thickest bed-sheets in the world...That had to take the feeling of cold away from him, right? I glanced over at the time. Two in the afternoon, and he ran away at eight in the morning. Six whole hours of lying in the freezing cold snow...God, it was a miracle that he was still alive. In a way, though, he was actually dead when I found him. His heart wasn't beating, he wasn't breathing, and his entire body was cold. I really don't know how my CRP method actually made him come back alive...It was shocking...Yet at least he was alive. That was all that mattered right now.
