I wake up soaked from the rain storm that had passed the night before. When i try to open my eyes my vision is croggy. My eyes are sensitive to the light shining through the crack in the box. My stomach groans desprately. I whimper from the pain of my empty stomach.
"I NEED to get out of this stupid box!" I scoff to myself
I start unsteadily, lifting my back left first then my front right and I steadily lift my last two limbs.
"OOF! I cant even support my own weight." I cry helplessly as I slam back to floor. I continue to try for what seems like hours before i finally give up accepting my fate. I was going to starve in this box...or worse.
An hour had passed when I suddenly heard an awkward shoufeling outside of my box. I've never heard these sounds before. Maybe it was a hero. Someone who heard my cries and came to rescue me!
"Now is my chance!" I thought eagerly to myself.
I started to whimper quietly. Nothing happened but the same shoufeling sound. I increased the volume on my whimper, wich was now a high pitched howl. The shoufeling suddenly stopped now, and i was scared. My heart was racing. I heard slow tip tappers coming toward me.
"Maybe they can help me...of course thats why their here..right?" I thought to myself i started to whimper loudly.
"See? I told you guys i heared somefing!" exclaimed the mysterious voice.
I heard footsteps come toward my box when suddenly i heard a gripping noise and shuffling. Four little worm like things had slammed through the small opening at the top of my box. I hid behind my ears as the roof of my box slid open loudly with the ripping sound echoing off the four sides of the inside of the box. This mysterious human like thing was loud. When i flopped my ears off from over my eyes i was surprised to see three huge things standing above. They seemed to be staring at me in awe.
"Wow, look it! It's a dog!" One of the tall things said.
"Its not just a doggy, guys. Its a baby!" One of them said while reaching toward me and pulling me into an embrace.
"My dad would nevew let meh keep tis." One of the tall things said.
"My motter would! Come on I'll take you to my motter!" Said the third tall thing as it reached out and I moved to another pair of arms.
The tall things waved their huge paws goodbye to each other and the tall thing pulled me into a craddling embrace. Was this what it felt like to be loved? I snuggled comfortably into the what I decided was my human and fell asleep in their embrace. I was abruptly awoken a few minutes later bye my human talking to me. I looked at its fave that i had not yet seen. I smelled its hormones and decided it was a boy. He had short blonde fur on the top of his head and he had pale skin and lacked body fur. He was thin and tall and a little clumsy when it came to walking, but the best part was his eyes. They were such a bright blue color, like the sky.
"Anyway, how do you survive with such little fur?" I whimpered.
I continued to listening to whatever my human was saying. I hadn't been listening, after all everything was so colorfull and i was full of curiosity.
"-I can tey'll you havnt has it easy. You seemed scared and lonely. Dont wowwy though! I am too, You not the only one."
When my human said this I knew these were words I would never forget. I fell asleep in his embrace to the soothing sound of his heart. Our walk home was bumpy, but it was amazing to even think i would have a place to call home and thats all that mattered.
