Who talks to someone close to their ears with their body almost pressing to each other?

"You can't understand... Just believe me, Lola. Please. I will never do that. How will I ever risk losing you for a contract? Please, I swear. It's not what are you thinking... I am telling you the truth Tiwalola. I swear to God."

She breathed out and she used the back of her hand to wipe away her tears. Then she pulled out her engagement ring. She stared at it for a few long seconds while Demilade stood watching, stupefied and in complete shock.

He felt like he was going to explode from the fear burning inside of him. He was pleading internally that she wasn't going to do what he think she will do as she stared at the ring.

He watched helplessly as she took his hand and then dropped the ring on it.

"I'm done." She said when she gave him back the ring.

He looked up from the ring to her face.

"Lola...please... Don't do this. Please let's talk... about this. Please." His heart was beating so fast in fear and it was like it was going to burst out of his chest at any minute. "Please, Lola... Let's talk about this."

"I can't even look at you right now. I..." She cried, looking away from him.

"Please Lola don't do this. I swear, I have nothing with Tina. It wasn't what you think. Please. Take back the ring."

"I need a break Demilade. I need to think. Please... Just..." She was cut short.

Demilade continued begging. "Lola please don't do this. Please I'm telling the truth. I didn't do anything with her." He tried touching her, moving closer to her but she moved back quickly like he was some kind of plague with a look of anger and disappointment in her eyes.

The gesture made him feel like his whole world was crumbling. He felt his body shaking. His body was really shaking with fear, his heart beating frantically in his chest, tears gathering at the back of his eyes. It's seem like his worst fear was coming true.

She is leaving him.

She hates him.

The look in her eyes made him think he had fucked up and he was going to lose something so valuable. Someone irreplaceable.

He let a lone tear drop from his eyes and he moved back so she could leave like she wanted. He hated how she look at him with those teary bloodshot eyes. And the fact that he was the cause of it hurt him so much. If not seeing him would make her feel better, then he has to let her go.

"I swear... I... Have nothing to to do with Tina. It wasn't what you think." He said for the last time, his voice breaking at every word he spoke.

It pained him so much that she won't even believe him but what hurt the most was seeing her cry. Especially knowing that it was his fault.

Lola said nothing in reply to his statement. She opened the door to the driver's seat and climbed into the car. She burst into another round of tears as she tuck in her seat belt then she drove away without a glance at him.

Demilade stood in the same position as he stared at the ring on his palm. He felt empty and heartbroken. Nothing could describe the pain in his chest at that very moment. And it hurt like hell.

"Demilade..." He heard someone call his name behind him. Like a zombie, he turned around to face his friends.

"Did you really cheat on Lola with Tina?" Adam asked, sounding exasperated.

"Will you shut up Adam?" Fareed barked. He glared at Adam who was giving him a look that said 'Didn't you hear what she said'.

They had driven into the parking lot just as Lola came out of the elevator. Fareed was about to climb down to meet her when he was held back by Adam who told him something was wrong. And that was when he noticed how she was moving and just in time, at that moment, Demilade also ran out through an unknown doorway, calling his fiancee's name.
