Demilade chuckled. "Generous? Wow! That's really cool of you."
"Glad that we are on the same page."
"We are not." Demilade deadpanned. Her face furrowed to a frown. "Not in this manner. I am not going to sleep with you, Tina. Not even for a second."
"Wow!" Tina exclaimed. "Such a saint you are! Do you know what you are going to lose from refusing me? Not just my contract. You will be losing all your money. Every last one of it. All the sleepless nights of cracking your brain for ideas just to give me what I want. All those efforts will become a waste. And not just that. You will also lose a chance of being in the good record book of my father. You will lose a lot of business chances with my company and you know that. All for what? Being a saint? Being a faithful fiancé?" She scoffed. "What's the point when you have a lot at stake? Just doing something so easy and natural, you're going to lose all that. Ask yourself, does she really worth it?"
"Stop acting so innocent. Nothing is new under the sun. I also have a fiancé. Not that I am going to announce it to him. And it's just for a night. One night Demilade and I are good. You have what you want and I also get mine." She added.
"My answer remains the same, Tina. I am never going to cheat on my girlfriend." He affirmed confidently and he leaned down on the desk behind him. "I'm not like you."
She laughed a pained laugh. Then she stared intently at Demilade who had an impassive face on him.
She looked away, angrily. Nothing she was saying affected him. He doesn't seem like he was moved. But that can't be.
She was certain of that. She was sure that under that impassive face of his, there was uncertainty, doubt, and a battle between accepting her proposal or not. She just has to give him more reasons to accept it.
She always gets what she wants.
And she will get this one too.
No matter what.
"You're not like me. You don't even know who I am. You don't know who you're messing with." She paused. Then she heaved a sigh. She realized being harsh or demanding won't help her. He wasn't fazed at all by her threat. "I understand that you love your fiancée and you're being so faithful to her. That's really awesome of you. Really. I admire that. But do you think she will want you to lose all this opportunity just for a night? Let's be realistic here Demilade. Women love money. Your fiancée is not exceptional. Why would a girl in her class date someone like you if not for your money? Women love money. We love expensive things. We both know how much this contract is worth. Isn't that the reason you've been working so hard to get this deal? It's all about the money. And that money is almost nothing to my family. You know that. I also have a fiancé and just one night of pleasure between the two of us won't destroy that relationship."
"We are different. You're betrothed but I choose the woman I want to be with it. I love and respect her. I choose to be faithful to her. That's the difference between the both of us. You on the other hand, you're going to do anything you want to get what you want even at the expense of destroying someone's relationship and even yours. "
"Ain't destroying anything if it remains a secret. It's going to be between us and no one will know about it." She said it like it was an obvious fact. "You go on with your life and your relationship and so will I. It's as simple as that."
Demilade chuckled. "It is not. You and I know it is not." Demilade said. "I know how women like you think Tina. And I am not ready to fall into that trap. Not now or ever."
"What trap?" She sneered. "It is just business. You give me what I want and you get what you want. Trade by barter. And no one gets to know about this."
