Her face quirked into a smirk. "It's fine. You should answer your calls. It might be really important, you know?" She noticed the reluctance on his face and then she added. "Don't worry, I've got all day."
Demilade doubted the call was very important and he knew he doesn't have all day to spend with Tina. He has something much better to do. But he told her nothing but just nodded and he stood up from where he was sitting, then walked over to his desk. He picked up the phone from his desk and answered the call.
Tina sat in her position staring at Demilade who was having a quiet conversation on the phone with an unknown individual. She could notice the boredness on his face as he listened to his caller. He said something quietly pacing the front desk in a short stride.
She smiled at herself. She had always enjoyed watching him do his thing. She had spent most of the time watching him rather than listening to his explanation relating to the blueprint of buildings.
She stood up from her seat and went over to his side. She stood watching his back with a knowing smile on her face until he turned around.
Demilade ended the call and he turned just to see Tina at his back. She had a knowing look in her eyes which he couldn't pinpoint. And he wondered what she was thinking or why she left her seat in the first place. His brow quirked in question looking back at where she was previously sitting and then at her.
She knew he was probably wondering why she was there. His questioning face said it all.
She strides closer and his furrowed brow deepened.
"What's the meaning of this, Tina?" He asked sternly.
"I don't know how other people find your harsh tone scary because I don't. It is the other way round in fact." She spoke with a smile playing on her lips.
"And what's that supposed to mean?"
She scoffed out a peal of laughter. "Stop pretending that you don't understand what I mean." She said to him, leaning closer while Demilade took two steps backward.
He noticed the frown that spread on her face when he took the action.
But she doesn't look like she was giving up. Tina moved closer to him. Too close in fact. She was standing in his personal space and there was nowhere to move to. He was already standing directly in front of his mahogany desk. So he stood firmly in his position, staring down at the woman in his front.
"Will you please take some steps back?" He said gesturing with his head.
She looked at the almost nonexistent space between them then she nodded like she was just realizing that she was standing in his personal space. She took two steps backward then she looked at him.
Demilade sighed quietly in relief then he attempted to move past her but Tina stopped him by placing a hand on his chest. He frowned down at her hand.
"Not so fast." She spoke as she peered at him. She wasn't smiling any longer. "Let's talk here."
"Fine. Then take your hands off me." Demilade spat.
She seems frightened by the tone of his voice for a split second before she did as he instructed. She stared at Demilade as he adjusted his shirt. Then he turned to her.
"I don't have all day here Tina. I have a meeting..." He looked at the wristwatch in his hand and back at her. "In a few hours. You should decide quickly."
She burst into laughter. She laughed so hard that she was holding her stomach and Demilade watched her, frowning down at her as well as wondering what she finds so funny.
