"We talked about this Demmy. Nothing is wrong. I am fine." She replied harshly. He just shook his head and continued with his food. After a while, Lola said breaking the silence between them. "You returned late yesterday and your number wasn't reachable." She was now peering at him, expecting an answer from him.

Demilade gave her a quizzical stare. He could tell there was something in her tone. She sounded different. He stared at her for a while before answering her question. "It's probably the network at the club."

"You went to a club? I thought you said you weren't going out with your workers yesterday."

"I'm sorry. I planned to tell you. It just escaped my mind this morning. After the meeting with Tina, she decided to take us all out. I tried to insist but she was adamant and the others were in support that I go with them. At least, she was making a good gesture despite she hasn't accepted the deal and she paid the bill for yesterday's outing. "

"You could have just turned down the offer," Lola said angrily.

"I know. I could and I can. But I can't always be so serious. Common Lola, you are the one who told me yourself to give other people chance. And that is what I did. She is nice and carefree. It's not everyone can pay the bill for a group of people who work for the company whose contract she was yet to sign. I need the contract, Lola. Moreover, it was a simple gesture."

"Really?" Lola asked, angrily.

Demilade furrowed his brow, confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Just forget it," Lola said turning back to her food which she already lost appetite for.

Demilade dropped his cutlery and leaned back on the seat with a glare.

"Do you want to tell me what that means, Tiwalola?"

"It is nothing. Forget it." Lola answered angrily without looking at him.

"You just accuse me about lying and you won't even look me in the eyes. And you are telling me nothing is wrong. What the hell is wrong with you Lola?" She was quiet. "I'm talking to you, Tiwalola," Demilade said loudly.

"Fine." She answered back, equally angry. She hit the table in the process causing a loud bang sound that caught Demilade by surprise for a second. "You want to know what the problem is... You are the problem. You're the problem Demilade. You made a promise to be back early yesterday but you didn't. Instead, you went clubbing without telling me until I asked."

"I have every plan on telling you." Demilade defended himself.

"Oh really?! You did and you never mentioned it until now when I asked. You left me here at the house and you went clubbing with some god-forsaken stupid bitch."

"That god-forsaken stupid bitch is my client Lola. A big one."

"I don't give a damn about who she is."

"Why won't you? She is my client Lola. An important one. Are you jealous or what? She is just my client. Why are you being so paranoid recently?" He asked, brow furrowed with confusion.

He wasn't understanding why Lola was acting up.

"That is because of you. You were going out with the cunt and you never let me know. A simple text would have done but you decided that I don't deserve to know." Lola scowled at him.

"What the fuck is your problem Lola? How will you call Tina a cunt? You don't even know her."

"I don't need to know her. I already saw it in her eyes the first time I met the bitch. She is nothing but a slut."
