"Thanks for deciding to come here. I know this is the last place you wish to be...."

Demilade politely cut him short. "You're quite right. But I am here already." Jerry nodded in agreement. "Is he inside?"

He doesn't have much time to waste and that is why he needs to get to the reason for being in the house, finish it and leave. He was already getting uncomfortable.

Jeremiah nodded his head. "Yes. They are waiting for you."

Demilade also shakes his head in reply. And Jeremiah leads the way. They walked together along a tiled pathway with dried and almost dead flowers. It was obvious that the house need some renovation. The flowers need to be uprooted and new ones to be planted. The paint of the house they were heading to was worst than it appears from the outside.

He was certain that the house had once been a mansion in the eyes of others but now it has lost all those glories.

What a pity!

They both walked in silence until they got to the front of the house. Although he couldn't see anybody standing close to the windows but he could feel eyes on him. And it wasn't just the perplexed eyes of the security men they left behind at the gate post but other eyes. He has that feeling that he was been watched. But he pretended like it was nothing.

When they got to the front of the house which was still a bit attractive and presentable unlike the other part of the house, Demilade stopped Jeremiah, touching him for a split second on his right arm.

"Jerry." He called. The man looked at him, surprised he called his name then he recovered and he seemed curious to hear what he has to say. "I know that I treated you badly when you came over to the office...." It was still hard apologizing to people that weren't so close to him. But he has to. It was the right thing to do. The man had been nothing but patient and understanding. And he felt guilty for what he did. "I apologize for what I said and did at my office. It wasn't your fault and just like I am, you are also a victim of his decisions. I didn't have the right to get angry at you. I shouldn't get mad at you because of Lawrence's decision. So I am sorry."

A small, surprised smile spread across Jeremiah's face. And he nodded, saying. "I understand. Apology accepted."

"Thanks. Let's go inside." And he nodded.

There was a lady with a wheelchair beside her talking with another lady that looked almost like her in appearance in the living room when they entered. One was sitting on the armchair and the other one was on the center rug.

He recognized the lady on the armchair from a friend's party some time ago. Although he never had a conversation with her and neither does he have any idea that she was Lawrence's daughter - his half-sister.

The two ladies turned their attention to him when he came in with their eldest.

"Good morning." They greeted as the girl laying on the center rug sat up.

"Bertha, I can't find it." Someone complained as she come into the living room. She looked up from the phone she was pressing when she got no reply from her sister. She almost drop her phone from shock when she saw Demilade standing with her brother. She placed her hand on her chest with wide eyes looking like she saw a ghost. A small smile spread across her face. "Brother Jerry... Is he the one? He looked just like you. Wow! So you're Demilade Ninalowo, my other brother. I've heard about you. I also googled you when I was told you were my half-brother. I was so impressed. Believe me, I am hardly impressed. But you really got me. I was so so impressed and I have been meaning to meet you in person. My friends are my witness, I have been chanting your name since I was told about you. Woah! It's so nice to meet you." She exclaimed. "You even look more handsome in person. More handsome than brother Jerry here." She glanced at her elder brother who shook his head, saying nothing in reply. "No offense big bro." The girl said all so fast that Demilade couldn't help but chuckle which actually surprised Jerry and Bertha. They gave him a weird look.
