‘really? Couldn’t you have told that to me before I almost swallowed it?’ I just shrugged, I was keeping my mind free of anything.

This was a trick I learned to control when I was being beaten, you don’t feel anything anymore, it’s like you’re being in some sort of trance. I got myself out of the trance when the beatings were over so I could take care of the wounds. They finished getting the snake off of me and they threw it together into the lake

‘wow, that was a really big and long snake, it must have been something like five meters!’ someone said

‘yeah I know right, it was HUGE!’ another person reacted. The person that was sucking the poison out of me was pushing my stomach lightly to get up.

‘so, all ready Evangeline’ he held his hand out, but I didn’t react

‘Evangeline?’ he crouched down next to me

‘Evangeline, are you alright?’ he was waving in front of my eyes, but I wasn’t focusing on him, I was focusing on the sky, the sky was dark blue, almost black and it seemed like it had a thousand stars in it and there was one big full moon. It was calming to look at, but suddenly the sky was moving.

‘why is the sky moving?’ it stopped, my senses were slowly coming back now

‘hey, what was wrong?’ I heard a voice, it seemed like it was Jaden’s voice.

‘Jaden?’

‘yeah?’

‘why was the sky moving?’

‘the sky wasn’t moving, you were’

‘no I wasn’t’

‘yes you were, I lifted you in my arms and I was carrying you.’

‘why?’

‘because you didn’t react’

‘no, I did that myself, it was so I didn’t feel the pain of the snakebites’

‘oh, but why did it take you so long to come back to the earth?’ he joked

‘if you put the TV on it isn’t immediately showing something is it? it is slowly coming to life, because it would break or something if it would just go like that’

‘ah, I understand now’

‘okay, good for you, but could you please put me down now’

‘no’

‘why not?’

‘you were bitten three times by a snake!’ he exclaimed

‘and you were strangled by ghost’ Marcus finished and I looked at him shocked, as did the boys

‘WHY’D YOU TELL THAT!’ I shrieked

‘because it was either me or your brother who’d tell them.’

‘no!’ I jumped out of Jaden his arms and looked around me

‘hey, we aren’t that far from the lake’

‘no, why’d you think that?’ Jaden asked and I just shrugged.

I was walking towards the tree were I had put my stuff and saw that the leaves were laying on the ground, but everything was still there. I started putting the stuff in my bag, then I slung the bag over my shoulder

‘wow, wow, wow, wow, what are you doing?’ Jacob asked me

‘I am getting my stuff’

‘why’d you put it there?’
