A Gift

"Fuck, I've been with her for so long yet I have no Idea what to get her"  I struggle while walking through the mall

I've already ordered her some designer clothes, but I wanna get her something she'll never forget, or always wear

But the only thing that sounds like is a wedding ring, I don't want to ruin her college with a sudden proposal, I'd prefer to wait until we're both really starting our lives

"A Promise Ring!"

A ring to promise her I'll always do right by her, I'll always love her, and I can use it to promise her I'll marry her one day

I hated having to do this but I called her mom

"Hi baby, what tired of-"

"whats her ring size?" I cut her off

She clears her throat, "uh, why?"

"Please come on, I don't have time for this" I waited for her to finally tell me and once she did I quickly thanked her and hung up

I ran to a jewelry store, looking through all the rings, but when it came to picking one out I was so indecisive

"Dammit" I rub my eyes

"Need help sir?" Mikasa asks before laughing as I realized it was her

"MIKASA" I felt excited just seeing her, we go way back, to early childhood, maybe a little love we felt for each other but we don't speak on it

We share a quick hug before starting to chat

"Eren, looking for jewelry?" She jokes

Being around Mikasa was easier when I didn't have a girlfriend, I could flirt around with her, but now I can't

Mikasa is beautiful, she was my first love...

So being around her while I'm in a relationship with another girl I love feels weird

Her short black hair fits her too well, her smile, everything...

"What are you here for??" I dodge her joke

"I wanna get something for Sasha..." she looks down

Sasha was one of our childhood friends, she died a few years ago.

"Oh I see, how are you doing with that?" I ask while placing my hand on her shoulder

"I'm not fine, I feel lonely, I miss her, I sort of, miss you too" She wipes a tear away

"I'm sorry, but I'm here to get a ring for my girlfriend." I pull my arm back, hoping she didn't take it too hard

"oh, well... she's a really lucky girl" she gave a sad chuckle before stepping back

"Eren, I hope you haven't forgotten everything we have between us, I'm also getting something for her grave too" She gave me a piercing look

"I could never forget about that, but bringing it up doesn't make it any better" I assure her

"Then go to her grave, leave your daughter something." she said before walking out of the store

Back when me and Mikasa were together which was for a couple years , she ended up getting pregnant. But due to complications she decided to get an abortion, and honestly from there our relationship started to fail

"fuck" I whisper to myself trying to calm down

Right before I felt my anger take control of me my phone rang

Quickly answering without looking, my anger slowly left

"I miss you, come home to me, you've been out all day" Y/n said with a begging voice

"I'll be there soon okay I promise, I love you." I confess

"Love you too, stay safe" She hung up after that

Nobody can calm me down the way she does, just hearing her voice makes me happy

I turn around and there it was, the most beautiful ring I'd ever saw

"Excuse me!" I call out for a worker

"This one please" The woman's eyes widened

"Oh, okay sir come to the front desk" she seemed shaken

At the front desk I signed a few papers and wrote down the size and all the shipping information

"The ring will arrive within the next 2-3 days" the woman informs me, this jewelry place only had fake replicas of the items so if anyone tried to steal it wouldn't be worth much, with this store you buy the ring in store then the real one is shipped to you

"Okay sir your total $850, shipping is $10, so $860 is your final total" The woman looks at me weird as I pull my card out with no worry

She gave me a receipt once my card was approved, "have a good day sir"

I smile before leaving the store

"A gift for her, I hope she'll like it" I say before leaving the mall

"I wonder what she'll get me?"
