My grandpa told me that I was named January because that's the month my parents fell in love with each other and Jade because it's my mother's birthstone.

You see I don't remember my parents. Shortly after my mom gave birth to me, she started not feeling well and the doctors determined she had an after birth infection and died a couple weeks later.

Which left me with my mariner father, who left two year old me with my grandfather so he could finish his last tour and then come home and raise me, he died as well, taking a bullet during a mission.

Then it was only my grandfather and I.

I have two things left from my parents, my mom's bracelet who, according to pops, never took off. And my dad's dog tag. Ever since I got them I don't take both of those things off me.

It's the only way I can still feel connected to my parents, the people who I'm sure loved me, even if that love was short lived because of our limited time together.

Hey, hi, hello.

How are you?

So this is the pre prologue. I don't really know if that's a thing but I did accidentally write two prologues and I didn't want to choose so I decided to publish both.

Hope you liked it!

Love you, byeee.
