8) Our Memories

Reaching the convenience store, I just stood before the female underwear section, with a deep flush on my face.

Miya: "I knew you would be embarrassed."

She said, grabbing a pair of black panties and a matching camisole and dropping them in the basket.

Alucard: "Who said I am? I am just lost in my fantasies."

Miya: "I have seen you enough to tell what you're thinking."

She also added a pair of socks.

Alucard: "H-how so?"

Miya: "You're a calm whenever you claim you're thinking dirty."

Alucard: "I have no words."

Miya: "Good."

I brought some sandwhiches and drinks which we ate back in the hotel. After a quick shower, I asked

Alucard: "Lets's go back first thing tomorrow"

Miya: *surprised* "Huh? Why?"

Alucard: "I am worried about Ruby. There's that and also I found someone who remembers you."

Miya: "....R-really?"

Alucard: "Both of my college friends."

Miya: "When did you....?"

Alucard: "I called while you were in the shower."

Miya: "Calling this late could end a friendship."

Alucard: "I apologized. It'll be fine."

Miya: "Such confidence."

Alucard: *confident laugh*

Miya: "But... wow, there still other people who remember me."

Alucard: "Yeah, so maybe the cause is at the college."

I have no proof of course. But it was the only lead I had. That's why I have to place all my hopes on it and start making moves.

Miya: "Okay. Then let's get some sleep."

Alucard: "Uh.... so where should I sleep?"

Miya had already staked out a claim on the bed.

Alucard: "The floor? The bathroom? I think the hotel will get mad if I sleep in the hall."

She just stared at me silently for a long time. Then she asked,

Miya: "Promise not to do anything?"

We tried to sleep on the same bed, but

Miya: "So cramped"

The single bed definitely isn't designed for two.

Alucard: "Should I move?"

I said glancing at her. She looked back and our eyes met. Damn, close up she is so pretty.

Miya: "Say something fun."

Alucard: "That's a high bar. Do you enjoy tormenting me?"

Miya: "Don't you like me tormenting you?"

Alucard: "No man alive would be unmoved if a beautiful girl tormented them."

Miya: "Is that a compliment?"

Alucard: "A glowing one."

Miya: "I see."

The conversation petered out. The only sounds in the room were the noise of the AC, and the ventilation fan in the bathroom.
