"In which Tewky finally admits his feelings to the girl of his dreams."

Okay today was the day. The day Tewkesbury was going to tell Enola how he felt.

He got ready for school and even skipped his breakfast, wanting to look absolutely perfect for her and to rehearse what he'd say.

He paced his room back and forth.
"I've been wanting to- no no um," he crossed out some words on his 'script'

Yes you heard me right, a script.

"I really really- um..." Tewky bit his lip anxiously. "Alright um...uh..."

"William Tewkesbury! You're going to be late to meet Enola!" His mother called from downstairs.

"Oh shit." He whispered under his breath.

He rushed down the stairs making sure to give his mother a quick kiss on the cheek before he ran out the door.

He sprinted down the road like a madman and stopped abruptly when he almost ran into Enola.

She giggle which caused his cheeks to go red.

"You goof, wake up late?" She giggled again.

Tewkesbury stuttered which only made her give a warm smile.

"Come on." She shook her head and grabbed his hand.

-

Okay, he was going to tell her today after school.

"Um Enola..." he started.
"Mhm?"
"I-uh um..." come on you idiot just ask to talk to her after school!

She waited for him to speak again.

"Uh never mind." He quickly said, looking down.

She furrowed her brows and held his hand tighter.

"You sure?" She asked softly.
"Y-yeh sure."

Throughout the day, Tewkesbury seemed...different...more anxious maybe?

Enola didn't know. She was confused and concerned.

But soon the day ended and Enola was going to Baker Street today so was going a different way, alone.

The sky was getting dark as though it was about to rain.

"Enola! Enola!"

Enola turned around to see Tewky running up to her, frantically.

He finally stopped when he was directly in front of her and holding onto her shoulders.

"Hey Tewky, what's up?" Enola asked softly, holding onto his arms.

They stood in a moment of silence as they made eye contact. It was so cold you could see their breath in the winter air.

"Enola," he started, not breaking eye contact "I've rehearsed this in my head 1000 times yet I simply can't find a way to say this."

Enola stood confused, waiting for him to continue.

"So I'm going to have to say this in easiest way I can." He paused.

"Enola," she gently nodded, not even noticing the rain that started to fall "I am irrevocably, passionately and unconditionally in love with you."

Enola's eyes widened as she stared at the silly boy she had fallen for and been in love with for years who had just admitted to reciprocating those feelings.

"And I think if I loved you less, I'd be able to talk about it more." He said keeping eye contact.

"Jane Austen." She whispered with a smile before she pressed her lips against his.

They weren't sure how long it was that they stood there in the rain, kissing but it sure was moment of pure bliss.

They danced and laughed there in the rain on their way to bus station and when they got their and Enola stood under the small shelter, cold and wet.

"I must go now." Tewky said sadly, "but you'll see me again."

Enola looked down in sorrow and he could not tell if she was crying or if it was simply the rain.

"But here." He took off his bag and pulled out a grey sweater, his favourite one, in fact.

He gave it to her and she held it to her chest and then to her face.

"But this is your favourite-" she was cut off by his arms pulling her into him.

"And so are you." He said quietly before pulling her in for a kiss.

They were sadly interrupted by the bus arriving.

"That's my bus." She said with a sad smile before putting on his sweater and hugging herself and then him.

"I love you too." She whispered into his ear.

She quickly kissed him and got onto her bus, watching him as her bus went down the road.

And he laughed and danced in the rain, absolutely lovestruck.

He came home soaking wet but when his mother asked he just kept the smile on his face and went up to his room and collapsed on his bed before squealing and laughing like a little girl.
