The cold air breezes as it approaches midnight, in New York City. Snow gently falls on the ground creating a white blanket along the concrete and streets. Feeling the christmas spirit as there's decorations covering the streets of Manhattan. Walking along the snow filled concrete, a latin woman in a black up to the ankle trench coat, massager bag, white scarf and her curly wild hair flowing with bits of snow flakes falling on it. Enjoying the weather without a care if she gets ill. She was so mesmerized by the scene in front of her, that she wasn't paying attention to where she was walking to. All of a sudden, she clashes into someone, both falling into the white fresh snow.

The woman quickly apologizes, "Oh my god— I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

Helping the male stranger pick up the bags has had in his hands. He chuckles in response. "No, no, it's alright— I wasn't paying attention either." He continued , "Enjoying the weather I see."

She smiled a bit in response, still embarrassed about the situation, "Yeah, I just never seen New York like this in a long time. It's... beautiful."

The woman hands the bags back to the man, finally getting a glimpse of the stranger she happened to have bumped into. He was tall, lightly tanned, had mixed blonde and brown hair, wearing a mask, covering his face, causing her to not know what he fully looked like. He wore a similar outfit to the woman, however what caught her was his eyes. They were a dark shade of brown, shaped almost like a dragon's, she couldn't help but get lost into them. She stopped immediately when after she spoke, he didn't reply, staring back her. She thought in her mind that she was probably making him feel uncomfortable.

She spoke once more, "Well, I'm— I'm sorry again about bumping into you and dropping your things, I gotta go now, have a good evening, sir." The woman fixed her coat and scarf, continuing down the down the direction she was going, but felt a hand on her arm.

"Wait—" the man began, not realizing he had grabbed her, causing her to look back in slight shock. "It's very late, do you mind..." he trails off reconsidering if he should finish the question. "Would it be okay if I walked with you? You're all alone— and we're walking the same direction, at least i assume so.."

The woman slightly shocked at his gesture, becomes all of sudden shy. She didn't know rather to say yes to a stranger, or just to brush it off and say no. It was gentlemen like of him since New York can get scary at this time of night, but how can she be so sure in trusting in him and nothing will happen to her?

"Um, I guess a little company wouldn't hurt." The woman shrugged, brushing her hair away from her face as the wind escalates a bit. She didn't know why she accepted this strangers offer, but somehow she felt comfortable with him enough to accept. She didn't know the answer as of why, or how, but she did.

The man smiled through his face mask, "Great. Let's hurry, it's getting colder by second, we don't want to get sick now." He gestures for the woman to walk first, once they start walking, they started a small conversation.

"What are you doing at this time of night?" the man asked the woman, looking straight ahead paying attention to where they're heading to. The woman looked at him for a second. "I was just getting off work. How 'bout you?"

"I was just getting a few things, you know— holiday's and stuff like that." The man responds holding up his bags. "What's you're job if you don't mind me asking?" He looks at her for a second, curiously.

The woman chuckled. "I don't mind at all— I work at fashion magazine company as a editor." The man's eyes widen in response to her, impressed by her occupation. "Wow, that's amazing."

"Thank you." She smiled. "What about you?"

"I'm just a philosophy professor— nothing exciting." The man laughs, a little nervous for her reaction due to his profession isn't being as special, almost practically boring.

"That's actually very interesting." The woman responds. "I personally don't know much about philosophy, but I like to think it's something I'd be interested in." The man laughs a bit." Well, I think you should learn more about it, if you have the time of course."

The man and woman continued to talk about anything they have in their minds to get to know about each other. They laughed, they shared some deep thought's, and even told crazy stories, before stopping at a cross walk where the woman has to cross, while the man continues to the left. They turned to each other.

"I guess this is where we part." The woman starts, looking at the man that now she's acquainted with. She holds up hand to end their interactions with a handshake.

"I guess so." The man responded. "I guess I'll see you around?" The man puts his bags down to put his gloved hand into her. The woman smiled at his question, hoping that can be the case. The man seemed like a interesting person, thus wanting a sort of friendship with him— she hoped he felt the same. "Absolutely, you know it's a small world out here." And with that the cross walk light went from the red hand to the white walking figure, she crossed, waving to him slightly as she exits the sidewalk.

The man was about to leave when he realized he forgot to ask for her name. He did a U-turn, but it was already too late and the woman he had just been talking to, disappeared into the snowy New York night. He sighed, hoping he would've stayed in contact, but without asking for a number or even a name, he wouldn't know how to contact her, or even find her.

He continued on his way, going through the events in his head, hoping that one day, he will see her again. No matter the cost. He didn't know why he was to destined to, he just felt like he should. To know the name of the mysterious woman that caught his eye the moment she bumped into him this very winter night.

—

The next day for the two strangers were what was normal to them. Waking up in the morning, working, and coming home. However, something that kept lurking on their minds was what occurred to last night with one another. Was it just a usual encounter with a stranger? Or was something there between the two? Was there a connection? Or was just the two people being polite human beings? These were the thoughts that kept running through their brains every once and a while. They even purposely walked slow on their usual area that very night, where they were walking together. Just to see just if, they will see each other, but it never happened.

      This would be on their minds for weeks, before slowly fading away in the back of their minds. However, the woman. She never let it fade away. She written about the man, even drew him one night in her sketch book. Just to remember the man. She called him, "The Stranger." Under the sketch she wrote a sentence that she hoped will come true, just to know who the man is;

Will i ever meet you again?

And with that, after a couple of months, the memory had faded. The two strangers moved on from this encounter, almost forgetting it ever happened. The world can be mysterious, maybe one day, they will meet again. And when that day comes, who knows what will it hold for the two strangers who met on that snowy winter night. Maybe their two worlds, will finally collide.
