3.Flashback

Brussels, Belgium

I was sitting quietly on my balcony of looking at the Brussels night sky full of stars and the bright and beautiful moonlight. It's new year's eve, the sky full of fireworks.

suddenly my cell phone rang, someone called me at night, and it was my father.

"Hello my Dear, how's everything ?" he asked me

" Good" I'm simply answered

"hmm Nice to hear that, what are you doing right now?" he continued asking me

" I'm just sitting on my balcony dad"

"Okay. Veerle, do you remember your promise 5 years ago?" he asks me again

"That I will come back if you ask me?" I said

"Yes honey, I want you to come back now, is it okay?"

I was silent for a while, I think I'm comfortable living here, even though alone. But I promised to my Dad I would come back if he asked me to come back. He gave me enough time. And I think maybe it's time for me to go back

"It's okay dad, give me 2 weeks, I need to finish my business here, after that I will go home"

" Dad, why you didn't tell me first?! why did you decide it by yourself? you're so selfish for that " Veerle gets angry because she was shocked about what happened.

" Is this the reason why you want me to go back to Korea huh? this is what you want? I'm not a little girl Dad. I can choose my own path, why are you only meddling in me, not Lana and not Marteen, why me? Why should I marry someone I don't even know?! " Veerle said it angrily

" Unnie, You know about this? " Ask Veerle to Lana who just froze didn't say anything.

" you too Marteen ? are you really missing me?" Veerle ask Marteen

"I do miss you noona, It just. .."

" Just what ?! explain to me, I'm getting frustrated" Veerle feels disappointed and betrayed.

" Honey you need to calm down first, Do you remember, your mother gave you a small tin box before she died? there's mother's wish letter inside it " My Dad finally speaking.

" the rosewood box?" Veerle ran to her room looking for her old things, she was looking for the box.

she didn't take the box with her when she moved to Brussels, but the key she made a necklace around her neck.

"gotcha" she's found the box. She opened the box, there was a letter and a necklace.
