where are you? he asked

‘at the lake’ I answered and I hang up.

‘okay, that’s settled, now tell me exactly what happened’

‘I’ll tell you later, but the important thing is that we-‘ he stopped talking and ran towards the bridge, it wasn’t that far away anymore, about twenty meters

‘AAAAHHHHH!’ Evangeline screamed and I started running too. Marcus already was at the place where Evangeline went to

‘EVANGELINE!’ he was looking around him frantically and he placed his hands around his mouth again

‘EVANGELINE!’ he shouted

‘hmphmhf!’ we heard something muffled from above us, we both looked up and saw Evangeline standing on a small branch.

‘Evangeline!’ I started climbing the tree she was in but then she was slung towards the other tree

‘oh no, Angelina’ Marcus muttered

‘what do you mean?’

‘I’ll tell you later, we just have to stand underneath Evangeline to catch her when she falls, but we can’t do anything to stop Angelina like climbing a tree. Angelina will just hurt Evangeline more’ he explained and he started walking towards the tree that Evangeline was on now, I walked towards the same tree.

It was not that high, just three meters or something, but the tree trunk was pretty thick, so this must be an old tree it was the smallest of all the trees I could see here. I started to worry myself

“oh no, what if she falls and we can’t catch her? No stop worrying yourself, you will catch her when she falls, you’ll always catch her when she falls” Evangeline her face was starting to go red now

‘what if she kills her?’ I asked Marcus afraid

‘she won’t’

‘how would you know?’

‘she already did this twice’ he was still looking up

‘well, three times if you count the first time when you were in Angelina’s room.’

‘I tried’ Evangeline breathed

‘what do you mean?’ I asked her

‘she must be talking to Angelina’ Marcus said and Evangeline was slammed against the tree

‘I really tried’ she was slammed against the tree again and her face went to one side

‘I did try!’ she breathed again

‘she shouldn’t be talking’ Marcus said

‘why?’ he looked at me with a ‘’you are so stupid’’ face

‘she’ll loose her voice’ my eyes widened

‘what? No!’

‘I was just’ Evangeline tried again, but again she was slammed against the tree

‘oh my god, she can’t do this to her!’

‘I don’t know if I can’ she breathed and then she gasped for air and shot her hand to her throat and coughed, she was still standing on the branch

‘is she gone?’ I asked Evangeline and she nodded

‘good’ I started climbing the tree and she was holding it as if her life depended on it, well it kind of did.

When I came to her I held my hand out and she looked at it with wide eyes

‘come on, I will not let you fall, I promise’

‘you promise?’ I nodded

‘I promise’ she took my hand

‘okay, just climb onto my back

‘what!?’

‘I promised you that I wouldn’t let you fall’

she nodded and shuffled to the beginning of the branch so she was standing flat against it, then she held one foot out and she was leaning on my right shoulder with her right hand, and I still had her left hand in my left hand. She draped her leg over my stomach and did the same with her other leg so she was now sitting on my back.

She clung on me like there was no tomorrow, but I understand it. I let her hand go and she putted her arm around my neck

‘not so tightly, you’re killing me here’ I laughed, but she immediately loosened her grip. And I started climbing down the tree.

When we were down she let go and walked to my front and hugged me

‘thank you’ she said and I hugged her back, she was crying but then let go of me and walked towards Marcus and she hugged him too.

‘thank you’ she said

‘don’t worry’ he hugged her back just like I did

“OH. MY. GOD! Marcus is hugging someone!”

‘what!?’ the other guys came
