Finding Out: Part 1

‘I swear, she was here’ *splash* we both looked towards the lake and saw it corrugate, we walked closer really carefully and we looked into the water

‘EVANGELINE!’ I shouted, Evangeline was sinking in the water I was about to jump but Marcus stopped me and jumped into the water himself.

He swam towards Evangeline and gripped her by the waist, he came to the surface and swam towards me. I lifted Evangeline out of the water and putted her down on the ground. I didn’t look what Marcus did and concentrated on Evangeline, I felt her pulse, it was going really quickly. I put her on her side and patted her back a few times, I didn’t know what to do.

Marcus came out of the water and threw his clothes on the ground, I looked at Evangeline and saw that she was half naked 

‘how didn’t I notice this?’ I asked confused, but Marcus pushed me away and pushed Evangeline softly on her back again, he lied his head on her chest and listened, I think.

He lifted his head and started pushing with two hands on Evangeline her chest and I looked at them anxiously he gave her mouth to mouth, and I wasn’t going to argue with him about touching her like that, because he was saving her life. After three times Evangeline started coughing and she gripped her neck

‘Evangeline’ I said and Marcus held her steady while she was leaning on one arm and coughing water up.

When she was done she looked at us, her face was flushed from the coughing

‘what happened?’

‘I don’t know, you were hiding behind the tree, Jacob came, we couldn’t find you and next thing we know is that you’re falling into the lake’ Marcus said and her eyes widened

‘what are you doing here!?’ she stood up quickly, but was a bit too quickly, because she tripped over her foot and fell into the lake, again.

‘EVANGELINE!’ I stood up and ran towards the lake ready to jump in, but Evangeline came swimming up again.

When she arrived at the surface with wide eyes Marcus chuckled, we both looked at him

‘what? It was pretty funny’ she mumbled something and swam to the other side of the lake, we both looked at her

‘what are you doing?’ I asked her

‘I am going to dress up’ ‘but I couldn’t find your clothes’ Marcus said

‘oh no? what are these then?’ she hoisted herself up and sat on the side of the lake, then she stood up and got her stuff she walked away

‘where are you going?’ I asked her

‘I am not going to change in front of you guys’ she said and I nodded. She walked behind a tree and I turned to Marcus and saw that he was already dressed up.

‘Come, let’s go to her’ I said

‘we can cross the lake over there’ I pointed towards a bridge

‘what about the others? Are you going to leave them here?’ he chuckled

‘would be handy, then they’ll learn how to survive in the woods’

‘nah, I’ll just call them’ I got my phone out of my pocket and started dialing Jackson his number

 did you find her yet? He asked me

‘yeah, Marcus found her ten minutes ago’

why didn’t you call me earlier!?

‘we had some… complications, I’ll explain later. We have to explain a lot to each other, like why she ran away’ I looked at Marcus and he just shrugged and mouthed that he’ll tell us later
