‘yeah, I found her’ he said and I started covering myself with all the fallen leaves, I covered my face with dirt and my hair too.

when I was camouflaged I lied really still, this was so comfortable and I was so tired that I felt my eyes close slowly and I fell asleep.

Jacob’s POV

we were all looking for Evangeline

“why did she run away!?” I was angry and I was worried

“what if we can’t find her anymore!” my phone rang and I got it out of my pocket

‘did you find her?’ Marcus was calling me

'yeah, I found her' I sighed

‘where is she?’ I said, but he had already hung up on me

‘what the hell!’ someone whistled and I looked up, I saw a beautiful lake and there on the other side from the lake stood Marcus

‘whe-’ he putted his fingers to his lips, indicating that I should be quiet. I nodded and he pointed towards the tree, I looked but saw nothing, I looked back at Marcus and shrugged he looked confused now

‘look behind the tree’ he said

‘I looked, but there was nothing. Why? And where is Evangeline?’

‘she should be behind that tree’ I heard something above me in the tree, it was like a broken twig, so I looked up and saw a lot of twigs coming down like spears.

I quickly moved aside but there were more coming there too, so I ran, but everywhere I went there were twigs falling. I became scared and made u-turn, and so did the falling twigs, but when I looked on the ground I saw no twig lying there, like I imagined it

‘why are you running man?’ Marcus asked me

‘can’t you see the twigs?’

‘what twigs?’ I stopped and all the twigs in the air vanished

‘they vanished’ I said while looking up again.

‘what are you talking about?’

‘there were twigs coming down on me, but I stepped aside so they wouldn’t hit me, but the twigs came falling down there too so I began running and the twigs followed me, and when I stopped they vanished while they were in the air’ I said really fast and he looked at me weird

‘you are going insane dude, but Evangeline was right there, I swear, I saw her going to that tree’ he pointed towards the tree I looked at when he pointed the first time.

‘you are going insane too, because I don’t see her there, come look for yourself’

‘what do you expect me to do, jump ten meters in the air to land next to you like Edward from that vampire movie?’

‘how did Evangeline come here?’

‘she swam’ he started stripping till he was only wearing his boxers and then he jumped into the water making it go all around him and he swam towards this side of the lake.

He climbed onto land and wiped the water out of his face and he shook his head

‘dude! You’re making me wet’ he looked at me

‘no, I don’t mean it like that! dude, I’m not gay, I don’t think like that. but if Samuel was here you two might have…’ I wriggled my eyebrows and he hit me on my arm and I just laughed it off

‘so where did you say she went to?’ I said and he looked towards the tree

‘that’s impossible, I didn’t hear her going anywhere’ he walked towards he tree and walked around it
